You probably could get it from the UK. Ive bought loads of things from abroad. The thing you've got to be carefull of is the tax element. I recently got something from Austrailia, delivered by Fedex. A week later, got an £18 bill through from them, to cover the tax aspect. Its the first one ive had, and have bought quite a bit from abroad.
As it from inside the EU there should be no tax to pay, and just like ordering from the next town in the UK with a little more P&P
ask them to send it by normal post it will take a day longer but a lot cheaper

well thats what I was told by a mate who worked for a freight forwarder as he got in **** at one point for paying the import charges without clearing it with the client first and as the client then refused to pay the company worked out of pocket, as if the client had said no not paying it they wudnt have taken it off the boat or somet, dnt know the full storey just know he was told not to pay the import charges till it was cleared by client otherwise the company has to pay them, and ive ripped all of mine upp, stupid Fedex and DHL, plus they send you the charges like months afterwards
Ive had fedex issue with me with a notice that they would get debt recovery involved........so i paid
