Primarily to make me feel better, having just ordered an R26 before Renault's press release, I thought I'd jot down the points that were issued in the release (taken from another post), please amend or apend, as I don't know anymore than what M4tty100 posted up (and also not clued up on pricing/availability etc)::::::::

Options...

Colour - Glacier White
An acquired taste, but white is big at the moment. Its non-metallic though, if that makes a difference to you. Its only available on the R26 too, a bit like the liquid yellow (an extra £1200 usually), so it does give that exclusivity of ownership in such a colour. (although I've seen white on other Megane models of the non-sport nature). This may possibly be a free choice by the looks it.

Multi-functional tune point
Glove box mounted multi functioning audio station. Hook up your USB, Ipod or other audio jack output device to get playback through the stereo. This may possibly be a £175 add-on. This is a handy tool that is primarily enjoyed for MP3 playback. Although it may well be possible to connect USB ports to the head unit using a bespoke cable (i'll have a look at this when mine arrives) and determine VFM & Useability.

Bluetooth kit
Hands free kit comes as an option. After market equipment can be purchased though, but costings and fitment would need to be taken into account before making that decision. Besides, who wants to answer the phone whilst driving, the silly cow can wait until I get home or pull over.

Lux Pack.....

Full Leather Interior
Leathered up Recaro buckets will be nice, compared to the chips and rice half and half you get as standard. Although freezing cold in winter, might put you off this somewhat. Leather rear bench will add to the rawhide appeal, a classy interior you shall have. Pricing: Unsure whether the Lux pack is a 'one package deal for everything, or whether you can break it down into options. Comments will surely follow...

Centre Front Armrest
You can buy this as a part from Renault, I believe? It came as standard on the Trophy and Phase 1 Cup.

Credit card machine
Start your car with your debit/credit card instead of the old fashioned key approach. In my opinion its a flashy piece of kit, Renault state is as being a safety device. You decide, but its not something you can add on afterward.

To make me feel better - having missed out on these before ordering....

White is not my thing.
The tune point is pricy but worthy, although I think you could get a USB extension cable to work from the back of the head unit with some pokery.
Bluetooth I can buy after, if I can be ar$ed.
Full Leather interior. I'd like this, very much so.
I can order an armrest if my tennis elbow keeps up.
I can get my money out of any Link/Lloyds TSB cash machine, so not fussed.

Is the R26 lux pack available on other colours?

This move has ****ed for sure both Mike and Myself out as we both wanted the lux pack bits on our meganes but not the R26 interior. Saying this the premium of having the lux pack on the R26 will be more expensive that retrofitting an aftermarket LSD so we will see.

They all have cards, the only difference being whether you actually have to get it out of your pocket to start or open the car. Its actually rather liberating not to have to get something out of yer pocket just to start your car.

Why do people forget that the R26 isnt actually the top of the range?

This pi**ed me off greatly too as up till the point of ordered i was torn between the cupped Lux with recaro's, but the colour (LY) and the LSD bit won me over! To be fair i could live without alot of the lux bit but the rear seats i cant live with as it looks like Reault forgot them, So do Reanult sell the rear leather seats from the Lux (don't want second hand)?? If so has anyone an idea on price or part number? as i'm worried a retrim wont match my front seats which i quit like as they are.....

This was short sighted of Renault. Most new cars are subject to improvement but this was WAAAY to soon. Not a mention of it in the motoring press either. The hands free system is massively convenient and I'd have happily paid more for it. I assumed the car would continue for about a year before a change-if it was to be changed at all.

Messing with the spec when the car has only been available around 6 months just gives existing owners the needle.

Porsche make no secret that there cars are all subject to spec changes for Sept. model year. It doesnt seem to hurt there sales. I waited till late 02 to get a Boxster S as thats when the glass rear screen, clear lights and extra bhp became standard.

Had it been made known that an R26 with the hands free card, full leather and Ipod compatible stereo was going to be available thats what i'd have bought. Renault lose more of my money that would have gone there way and I resent them for keeping it schtum!

That really depends on what you want.

The way I see it, is the Renault Sport Megane is the top of the Megane range, which variant you choose is down to personal taste / needs.

You will be able to buy the rear bench cover, when my old 225 seat had some premature wear they replaced the cover only, fitted perfect so pretty sure the rears would be the same.
