I live in Barnsley but work in Huddersfield so am in that area every day.

Owning a 225 is a great experience because in 18 months of owning it I have only ever seen two others on the road and both were black. I therefore have no idea what a blue, silver or indeed Inferno looks like when being driven!- A very exclusive car!

I live in wakefield, theres 2 or 3 in my area but I've only ever seen about 4 or 5 on the road when I've been in my 225, I've seen a fair few over the last year or so but I'm always in my van maybe see 1 every couple of weeks

I'm near Rothwell, just North of Wakefield, and there is another one about a mile up the road from me... common as muck round our way.... :o

Glad I didn't go for a CTR, there are two black ones in opposite houses on my road, mine would have been the third...

Thank god you didnt go for a CTR.... Great engine but the car as a whole has been sadly "commonized"...

i was looking at CTR when i bought 225, that is the only reason i didnt go for it with it been common as muck and also my mate had just bought one. looked at a supercharged ctr but no one would insure me

i agree the s2000 is very sexual, group 20 for a 2.0litre na engine is a bit much though

Did you know its cheaper to insure an NSX than an S2000?

Alex

only problem with the s2000 is its not fat ******* friendly!

ste00
04-04-2006, 21:05:23
lol.... This was something I was just thinking about, but didn't want to ask on here

I've got mixed up as to which is which now... I bought mine when as far as I knew they was only one model.. Ordered it in Dec 2004, got it in march 05 and is an 05 plate... No extras... ... Now they brought one out shortly after which had stiffened up suspension etc.. but not as many toys.. is that right????

rothwell225
04-04-2006, 21:07:40
lol yeah thats the cup/trophy model with the multi spoke alloys and suspension.

i only have the standard one (they wouldnt insure me on the higher model) but desperately want the upgrade alloys!

my turn to ask the embarassing question but whats "full fat"??

ste00
04-04-2006, 21:20:57
Pretty sure it's just the original Megane came with lots of gadgets and toys... then they brought out the cup/trophy as tightened up and stripped down a little.... To be honest I didn;t want to let myself look at it too hard having had mine about 3 weeks before being told about it...

Anyone else want to put us out our misery and just define the variants...

my turn to ask the embarassing question but whats "full fat"??

I dont know if they have answered your Q already but anyway...

Full fat is a way of refering to the (225) Non-Cup version or without the Cup Pack...

You have basically 3 + 1 variations with the 225.

a. 225 (Full fat)
b. 225 (full fat) w/ Cup Pack
c. 225 Cup
d. 225 Trophy (limited edition - not available anymore)

First they launched the 225 (in full fat mode) then they discovered that the car did not perform as expected, so they launched a Trophy version as a limited edition that had all the suspension/chasis/brake tweaks.

After the Trophy edition ran off, they made those tweaks a "pack" and called it the Cup pack, and it could be had as an option on the regular full fat 225 (ie all the toys + CUP pack).

After that, they launched an almost 'bare bones' version, called 225 CUP (not to be confused with the 225 'with' the Cup pack). The Cup is cheaper (msrp £18,600) has fewer toys (eg, air con instead of climate control, cloth instead of leather, etc) but has the benefit of performance enhancements

Confusing?

thanks for clearing that up alonso! seems to me that renault cocked up by launching the standard 225 too quickly!
but hey i love mine just the way it is :D :D :D

There is actually another varient.

There was the original 225 cup which was red. Only 40 of these in the UK

The new 225 cup is blue
