: zafira sri's???
minnnt 16-07-2007, 20:11:51 been looking at these... found one (well, a few) at the local car supermarket (available car) priced at £14799.
they're a pretty neat bit of kit, and massive, the interior space is immense, and a decent 150bhp 1.9 16v cdti diesel engine (automatic) so should be enough to lug everything around.
anyone had any experience of these?
i reckon i have 95% made my mind up that this is what i want but haven't had any experience of them, so looking for a bit of help (as always!) :D
probably ****ing everyone off now keep asking about cars again! :yes[1]:
thanks guys
mattieuk 16-07-2007, 20:38:05 You know my view on these mate
Have you thought about a Subaru Legacy? ;)

minnnt 16-07-2007, 20:52:38 yes mate i have... i like em, but if im having a big car i want a massive one! lol! haha!! i always said i would like a big car, so im looking at this as my opportunity to do so ;) also sat in a 53 plate forester... full leather etc towbar and roof racks ( :D ) not bad, but a bit erm, jap plastic interior for my liking :(2 litre turbo though, and the classic boxer engine iirc... yummy noise!!!! :D
there was also a pommegranite red zaffy sri 150 for £12999 but was manual. is the auto worth the extra muller? (thinking auto as the missus reckons she would rather learn to drive with a auto as oppose to a manual as she thinks its 'one less thing to worry about' haha!!)
mattieuk 16-07-2007, 21:05:35 The Zaffy I had that day was a Auto with a sport button (depressed for the journey home).....I liked:)
minnnt 16-07-2007, 21:19:12 i reckon that would be the sri then?? is the auto good then mattie?
also thinking that i can put the bambino on the second row of seats, and the dogs in the boot/3rd row?!

Yeah mate it was. Ive only ever driven that size of car once before (Chrysler voyager) so not much to compare with....but hand on heart I was so impressed with the Zaffy SRI. Plenty of torque especially off those roundabouts down the A50 from Stoke;)
Carl P 16-07-2007, 22:14:07 Me dads got a 150 bhp Scenic diesel....goes like f*ck...highly recomended
BruTamUK 16-07-2007, 22:30:10 Be very wary of available car matey. A few blokes at work have bought cars from there and all had problems. I think they are all ex fleet/company/hire cars. To be fair they did sort them eventually, but I know it was a lot of hassle.
If you do go and have a look, insist on a full test drive, and go over them with a fine tooth comb.
I'm only 5 minutes away by the way if you fncy popping in for a cuppa!
Bruce.

it's the one at sutton matey that i went to, but i would definantly go over them very carefully. it only had about 6k on it i reckon and on a 56 plate, so i reckon it was probably a hire car...
if i go down to the C.D. site i'll let you know and you can come and have a look around with me if you like! :D
think i am going to get a bit of money saved up to pay the defecit of what i will owe on the GP and go for it! :)
carl p, what are the scenics like inside size wise? cheers bud.

Danny 17-07-2007, 18:49:15 what about a zafira gsi / vxr
minnnt 17-07-2007, 18:56:03 looked at the gsi's... i would love a vxr but i couldn't afford one, and will do about 20mpg compared to my 42 from the GP.
Danny 17-07-2007, 18:58:10 ouch thats painfull seeing that sort of mpg lol
minnnt 17-07-2007, 19:09:13 lol... i know. the vaux 1.9 cdti engine is actually sourced from fiat, but it has 16valves compared to my 8.
Danny 17-07-2007, 19:33:20 what the GP has 8 valves?
minnnt 19-07-2007, 06:09:53 yeah.... team 8valve! :D
davejwxm 22-07-2007, 13:07:35 my mum had one of these for 3 years, never missed a beat, fast car toooo,
