Well,

I've ordered my Deep Black R26, and its due to arrive at the end of September....but after only a week of waiting I'm finding that its been too long already!!

Any body got any ideas to help me get through to the end of September without going mad?!?

It's horrible isn't it!

But the wait will be well and truly worth it I'm sure!!

sure will! I waited about 10 weeks to get my R26... then didn't! was gutted but in the end got my 225 and it was still worth it :D

I was told a got a 12 week wait for mine to come through.

So it should come through mid sep.

Tug yourself off several times a day

I started posting random sh!t on here, and started buying things for it (hence the random posts not knowing what I needed..).

Ended up with an excellent navi system all ready to go in the car when I got it!

I was saving up the final amounts of cash to pay for it, so I was more focused on that which got me through (just about)

count to ten :)

I found pulling my hair out was good too.

I am now a professional R26 waiter...

First ordered in March (delivery early June) end of May rolls round and after 8 weeks of waiting buyacar lose terms of business - by by goes my order.

So order again in early June now with buymynewcar (delivery first week in Sept) after 6 weeks of waiting (mid July) BMNC hit some issues with Renault UK investigations price goes up - by by goes my order.

Manage to get a deal with Alex (of Evens Halshaw Renault) car due in mid Sept!

When I finally get the car I will have been waiting nearly 6 months! And I tell you mate it doesn't get easier with time! But just remember it could be worse... you could be me!!

I've had mine for nearly two weeks after a 3 month wait - it's definitely worth it :)

I can highly recommned (not) the following:

1) Spend each day wondering if your current car is going to last, listen for the smallest of unusual noises and obsess over what it might be. (I had to replace the exhaust and the battery in my 172 while waiting for my R26 - very upsetting having to spend money on a car you know is going!):confused:

2) Place a picture of an R26 somewhere you will see it regularly :wavey: - just to remind you each passing hour of the agonizing wait that lies ahead!

3) Read endless threads on here about "look at my new R26". :rl:

4) Have a holiday abroad somewhere around about the middle of the 12 week wait, come back from holiday thinking "it wont be long now" then realise that actually, you're only half way there.

5) Waste you time reading excessively long posts like this one...


But after all that, it is __definitely__ worth the wait. I've spent sooo much on petrol since I got the R26 because I just go and drive it for the sake of driving :scooter::yes:

Not long to go then, youll have to put up some pictures when you get it. Then there will be 3 GT's on the forum!!
