: 1.4 16v induction kit / high flow panel filter
Dansport 31-07-2007, 08:19:42 Hi all,
My mate has just bought a 2007 1.4 16v sporthatch dynamique megane and is after one of the above, anyone looked into this or found out if anything is available?
I've had a quick look but cant seem to find anything listed with any of the big companies (K&N, Pipercross, Ram Air, Green Cotton etc).
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Dan
steve@wests 31-07-2007, 12:02:26 hi dan, hows tricks? what about one for the clio 1.4 16v. would that adapt??
Dansport 31-07-2007, 13:00:08 Good mate thanks,
Thirsty for more track time following sundays session @ Bruntingthorpe. Roll on Trax.
Worth a look mate, i'll check it out, this megane has the weirdest induction system ive ever seen. lol
Thanks for the advice.
Icarus 31-07-2007, 14:00:51 Don't bother is my advice. He won't gain anything from it.
Cheers
M
andy bassett 31-07-2007, 14:23:56 exact wat he said..
put a ITG in if anything, and they dont sound to clever with a IK on, mine never wen i had mine.
and it will be £40 well spent,
im sure the airbox is the same as ours.
Dansport 31-07-2007, 22:01:44 unfortunately it aint, but...... k&n do a replacement element for £35 so i'll say for him to do that if he wants to.
Shippo 01-08-2007, 08:50:47 I had an IK made by a Fabricating friend when I had the 1.4 extreme.
But I'm sure Prima racing in Nottingham do a Green kit now
MrTurner 01-08-2007, 08:56:50 If it's a 1.4, he's probably after induction roar rather than power gain? There must be an IK out there that fits? Just might loose a bit of power?
Dansport 01-08-2007, 13:29:02 No joy with Prima,
Seems he has a bit of an oddball as it's so new :censored:

andy bassett 01-08-2007, 16:38:51 just fit a universal one on,,
they all come with smaller and larger rings to get the right size, they do some good ones for about £30 now.
but still say go for the ITG and rip the foam out the box, you will still hear it slightly just not as loud.
Dansport 02-08-2007, 13:57:33 Unfortunately ITG dont do one for his and no chance with a universal induction kit, tried that and no joy, the section meeting the air intake has a large oval mouth?
Looking more & more like the K&N replacement element if he wants to bother.

Pinguim 02-08-2007, 19:26:36 Hello Dansport...
Is your friend still looking for the induction kit? MrBungle has an 1.4 just like myne and has one! Do you want to know the Brand?
Cheers...
ok the only way to create a power gain and a bit more induction is to fit an aftermarket element filter and to also then split the air control flow box that runs down the side of the engine in half you are then left with the center tube with a streght bit up the top and a twisty bit at the bottom hack thoses off and fiber glass over the holes then paint it works amazingly well defente power increase and torque will upload pics of mine later hope this helps .email me if you have any questions about how to do it . :) nick
andy the air intake by the air box is OVAL thus no aftermarket induction kit fits :)
also dansport i called itg and they made me mine :) £40

like the old 1.6 megane coupes,, its to the back right of the engine??
if so i made a couple of fitting plates for a couple of them a few yrs back, worked well enough to bolt a Ik to. :D
