** WARNING - its a long story ;) ***

Yep its 2 months old, has 550 miles on it and some pr!ck hit it yesterday on my return journey from Andy B's place!!

I'm coming down West Way (Caterham) and the road is only wide enough for one car. I'm on the right hand side of the road with cars to my left.
I'm quite a way past a gap on my side but this guy decides he'll drive past the one right by him anyway. I stop rather than either of us reversing he drives up on the pavement to my right, round my car and as he's dismounting the pavement he scrapes my rear wheel arch and drives off!!

After doing the quickest 3 point turn ever, I turn round and go after him. Catch up with him and flash him until he pulls over.
I tell him that he's just hit my car, which he denies. I get him out the car and point out the fact that the car is brand new and spotless yet I have his black paint all over the back of my car.
He still denies it until I point out the orange stripe down his door which is clearly from my car. At which point he says 'Well I must have hit your car!'

After much aggro and the pretentious tosser of a passenger sticking his nose in we exchange details and he tells me to get a quote and we'll sort it out.

Got a quote that day and the cost - £350!!!! After t-cutting and waxing its only about three really small marks but due to the colour its requires and estimated 7 hours to blend as needs three different paints to make the colour up. (inferno)

Tried to call the guy last night and no answer so left a message. He rings me back and does the same but now isn't answering his phone. I text him the quote and I have left a message today informing him that I have a witness (which I do) and that if he doesn't contact me tomorrow I'll be contacting my insurance company.

I just want to get it sorted ASAP but I really don't see why I should pay out for it now for him to say that he's not paying out.

Really not a happy camper!!!

Yeah I'll see what the guy says when I speak to him tomorrow, if he doesn't respond tomorrow I'll be on the phone to the insurers!!

It won't look good for him considering he drove on the pavement and then drove off from the scene of the accident. Plus I have a witness to confirm that my car was sationary and he hit the back of it!!

Thats **** news mate, specially since yours is probably the cleanest 225 i've seen outside a showroom.

Hope you get to the bottom of it soon, worst case is he has no insurance though :x

I've got photos of the whole incident and the paint on his door!! It had a 2ft long line of orange down his door yet he denied he'd hit me til we pointed that out!!

He's not accepting liability even though I was sationary, he drove on the pavement, hit the back of my car and drove off!!!! The guy is clearly deluded or a f*cking comedian. Either way I don't intend on letting him off.

Only thing that got me was that the insurers said that a lot of 'Narrow lane collisions' come down to 50/50. But I have a witness whose happy to comfirm the actual accident so fingers crossed.

I've sent off the quote details to the insurers as well and told them the garage I'll be taking the car too. They wanted me to send to car off to some industrial estate in Croydon, I think not!

I'll try and get some pictures put up of the damage. It really is a tiny series of scratches but as said above the car is totally mint and I intend on keeping it that way.

Fortunately I have an additional legal cover on the insurance policy which means it has been passed to the legal team and is not going through my insurers.

I've spoken to them and they have advised that I need 2 quotes and to get them faxed. Then I am able to take the car to the one I choose and they are going to claim the repairs back off the 3rd party's insurers.

It seems pretty clear cut but I've no doubt the other driver is gonna cause a fuss. Fingers crossed I can stitch the f*cker right up!

Thinking about it now I should have slapped the pair of em silly and just paid out myself for the bodywork to be done!!!

Would have given me a real sense of satisfaction.

I should have two quotes done tomorrow and then the repairs will be started Wednesday. :D
