Hi,

Trying to get a test drive of an R26, local dealer state this is almost impossible, can anyone confirm or deny this. I reckon they're talking rubbish.

Alex, if you read this, it's not a moan at you I promise! :)

Thanks

It will be hard mate, as there will not be many of them about. Just keep trying different dealers.

There is a link somewhere on the Renault UK website to book a test drive. Could try that.

Tried that before Robert with a 197, my local dealer called me asking which model i'd like to drive 1.2 petrol or 1.5 diesel.

Needless to say I didn't bother turning up.

Typical. If you go into a dealer, they can tell you which dealers have got one in. Might help you out a bit.

I can believe that. :cursing: I couldn't remember if it allowed you to choose a particular model or what. Thought it might be clever enough to point you to a dealer who actually had one available. I should lower my expectations in the future - it saves disappointment.

dealers run different demos,so they wouldnt probably know who runs what,as there is no central register.

I subscribe to Renault.co.uk and they sent me a e-mail a couple of days ago about an offer they're doing at the moment... If you took a test drive before the end of August you would receive a free picnic rucksack (looks ok in picture) so I typed in the R26 and postcode and to my surprise it came back with both my local dealers so I clicked one and It's supposed to be booked for tomorrow.(perhaps I should phone just to confirm they have a R26)

I'm down in Colchester, back in 04 when I was looking at getting my current 225 Toomey's in Basildon had one that I took out for about an hour solo. Tried them again this year but nothing,

I'm about to order a 230 in Glacier white but I just want to drive one first, it's not as if I'm asking for anything out of the ordinary.

I agree, surely your local renault garage can transport one to their location for a test drive? there must be one available somewhere!

Yes and i got a really bad service from them.

Evans Halshaw do have a LY R26 in but its a showroom car, they are not going to let people drive it unless they have paid a deposit on the car.
