Anybody know of this extremely quick RED Escort(RS last model possibly)
I kind of met up with it in Wakefield a few days ago heading towards Outwood in Wakefield.

I have no idea what the guy must of been packing in his engine but when i slipped into 5th he was all over my back end like a rash u cant shake off. if the road was long enough he would of flew past me..:wtf:

I know the post is a little vague but its the 1st time i have been really gob smacked..Even with an RS tune i beg to believe i would of stood a chance..

Next time i see this guy i will ask him...looks like he lives local.

Could of had a cossie engine, or a tuned up rs block in it, with a 16v bottom end or head, doubt it will have been just a tuned rs2000 or something cos there really not that quick.

Could easy get 250bhp out of an escort. As R55 says, they use parts from the 16v zetec which is nice and rev happy. Often called the ZVH as a hybrid of the standard CVH and Zetec.

It's prob cheaper to buy an old escort and chuck a couple of grand at it than it is to buy a meggy, but then it'd cost loads to keep mint and maintained, and not worth a lot when sold on..

my brothers is running 270bhp, well so he claims, it is bloody quick ill give it that,
never had a go with him as we dont go tot he same places..

hes got a 2ltr zetec bottom end, god knows wat on top of that.. steel rods ets, huge injectors, large cossie turbo, all running of the fiesta turbo ecu not the escort one, not sure why.. and a Quaif gearbox and clutch that "tings" all the bloody time,

he got some great MK2 capri 4 pot willwood callipers on the front tho, and cossie rear axle discs and carriers etc. look the part

oh and its a escort cab on a F reg :D

prob stands him in about 20-25k.

If it was a proper late RS Cosworth it would probably have the low level rather than whale tail rear spoiler. You sure it wasn't a DuckTin?

Sneeze at them in the right direction and they're running 50bhp more than standard ;-)

It was definitely an Escort though.(newest shape)
