: plastic cover missing
Alain 22-08-2007, 23:09:51 as above my car was not fitted with the plastic cover (big red arrow)
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f290/biloubilou/cover.jpg
now i went to my local renault dealer and told them that i saw the cover on other cars like the r26,225 and gt but the woman that i spoke to opened the bonnet of another meg a 1.something dci and it was the same as mine and she says that it doesn't comes with a plastic cover and didn't want to know anymore about it.
so i'm a bit puzzled as to what to do next as they might say well the car is older than 3 month bla bla type of crap.
what do think i should do take it to another dealer or speak to renault uk?
Naith 22-08-2007, 23:17:57 dunno bout that one mate, threaten to report them to trading stanards maybe?! because you can clearly see the gap for the plastic bolt thingies......or im sure someone on ere will be able to help you out.
ive been tinkering in the bay tonight, taking the cover off to resray and ive ripped all the sound deadening out of the bonnnet too, no doubt its gonna mirror all the heat back into the car now and i'll blow up....
chrisF 22-08-2007, 23:40:25 looks like another cost cutting spec deletion to me...
Ant Eg 22-08-2007, 23:54:14 Not surprising these cars are getting faster, renault are stripping out everything they can.
Not sure if the next release will have back seats
Alain 22-08-2007, 23:55:56 looks like another cost cutting spec deletion to me...
donno mate might be but i think i had my gt just before another member meganeGT and he as it on his car.
but if i'm wrong then it could be possible.
i'm just  @ the moment.
Alain 23-08-2007, 13:09:53 anybody knows the part number for this? just in case they don't want to fit it on my car under warranty.
shinyautos.com 23-08-2007, 13:11:50 Mate do not pay for this part, go to another dealer and tell them it doesn't come with one and your mates car ;) has got one.
They cant say that it doesn't come with one surely as that trim covers up un finished parts of the car!
Alain 23-08-2007, 13:19:08 you'll be surprise mate it looks like they are not bothered(masters @ beckenham)that is.
phone renault uk and they will investigate which is not good enough and theyr trying to say that it might not be covered under warranty so yea will go to another dealer and see what they say.
FunkyMunky 23-08-2007, 13:41:27 there's the answer to your problem.... Masters are great from what i hear at knocking out good deals on cars but thats as far as their service goes.
Try another main dealer and kick up a bit of a fuss and normally they'll take you seriously
Alain 24-08-2007, 12:19:35 Chris can you tell me wen you ordered your gt please mate as i am having a fight with renault uk.at the moment as they are saying that they stop fitting the engine cover and i'm like no i have a engine cover it's the plastic cover around the edge of the bonnet that's missing. so sent them another e-mail with the pic of missing bits.
so you guys ear it here renault will not fit engine cover on non sport model as they are specifically design to reduce noise.:censored: :censored: :cussing: :cussing:
thanks mate.
Casey-R26 24-08-2007, 12:29:37 Hi mate my car was oredered on the 10.03.07 and arrived on the 06.05.07 hope this helps, I would of thought renault uk would sort it out though. typical let down of aftersales from renault.
Alain 28-08-2007, 21:35:22 yes it helps mate well i hope as i ordered the car just 1 day before you.
Alain 29-08-2007, 12:30:53 Chris i was just looking at the pics of your dump valve and i realised that you don't have the plastic cover.! unless you took it off?

Casey-R26 29-08-2007, 16:02:23 The plastic cover that you was pointing to in your picture i do have unless you was meaning somehing else than in that case i do not have it. Only plastic thing removed from the picture is the engine cover which was removed to show the engine bay better.
Alain 30-08-2007, 11:12:18 maybe you can see it better here

Casey-R26 05-09-2007, 15:48:36 did you have any joy with the outcome of the problem mate as if you did i think ill get mine sorted as i dont have one , i thought you was pointing at something else, sorry.
Alain 05-09-2007, 15:54:10 no mate no luck. renault uk don't wanna hear anything.
i'm gutted :censored:
Hi there, the same thing is in Poland, I have a 2003 1.6 dynamique and it has all of the plastics, while the new ones I saw at the dealers dont.... In poland they have the right to change the spec of the car during the manufacturing period... that is said in all printed materials, price lists etc.. maybe there is the same clause in renault UK catalogues.....
Alain 14-11-2007, 22:32:07 yea same here
Tiger 17-11-2007, 16:54:47 Tight as hell imho.
