Okay, i noticed a day or so ago that my high level brake light was staying on so i pumped the pedal and it cancelled this it. I didnt think much of it just maybe a bad connection. So i use the car fine yesterday for work, after work i drive to a friends fine but on the way home it started to feel like i was driving with the hand brake on! So i pull over get out and check brake lights and suprise suprise, they are sticking on! Carefully drive the rest of the journey home and call out AA home start. They come out and just say it needs to go the dealer asap! The only other sympton is the brake pedal didnt seem to have as much movement as normal, not as spongy if you know what i mean! I am going to take it to the dealers when they open! I hope they are accomodating cos everything normally requires pre booked appointment! As it is dangerous to drive, can they just fob me off with an appointment next week??

wouldn't have thought so. My washers stopped working and they had to do a rush job because it is a legal requirement, and they didn't have any courtesy cars available...

well i took it down there this morning and they basically said leave it with us and they might be able to fit me in! So ive done that. No coutesy car and no really idea of when they will fix it!! So all i can do is sit and wait!

ok just got a call and its fixed! They are going to pick me up in a bit. Something to do with a relay falling off by the pedals. Not too sure about the technical terms!

it will be the micro switch in front of the pedal,when its in the off position it put the brake lights on and vice versa

some times the switch slips back putting the lights on constant all you need to do is slide it forward so it meets the pedal again,it sits in a hole with groves in it,and the switch has a thread to lock in the groves

i bet it was this switch
