Has anyone on the site seen this done or know of anyone who has done it?? I have mine on order and everyone i talk to say that i should get good power gain from it but they have never seen it done.

I have no idea. I have heard that it is the same fitment for the pipes etc. What engine is your Meg????

I want to do this upgrade on mine but waiting for somebody else to try it first

i thought that it did increase power but only marginaly as it was more for keeping the car cooler , Andy will explain more but thats what i thought.

I have heard that it will increase the boost on the turbo but it will take longer to spool up

after speaking to Paul at RS he told me this would basically be a waste of money as the DCi are runnings perfectly fine heat wise and have room for capacity, sorry guys, was thinking of doing this myself but yes it is a straight fit and you would need a custom remap to get any more power out of it the engine using this

just remembered what paul told me its the injectors that limit the tuning capabilities on the DCi, im trying to find some bigger injectors atm for it...

so bigger injectors are ment to be the way forward then? not a bigger turbo and the intercooler on the car at the moment is powerful enough to with stand more power gain.

speak to paul at rs-tuning mate, im only relaying what he told me, so I might have understood but yeah bigger injectors, not too sure on the turbo itself on the car as its an adjusting one/varing one or somet, but I do know places that can rebuild them, what you aiming to get out of the engine? After looking into things sensibly, I think the most you could get out of it is 160bhp safely, and then Paul's remap can take you to 150bhp, so maybe induction/panel and a decent exhuast would hit the 160 mark, just remember pauls remap gives you as much torque as the new dci 175, i belive

already hitting about the 150 mark with a remap and a got a green cotton filter too. Exhaust's on diesels dnt do anything im afraid. i dnt know how much power i want out of it. Just wanting to see wot i can do.

if exhuasts don't do anything apart from a better note, im not sure what else to suggest, you could look up the dervdoctor or just speak to Paul at RS and see what he has to say, who done ur remap as well was it an RS remap or have you got one of those inline box thingys?

a company up in glasgow done it. The guy has a laguna running at 165 with the same engine as mine with just a remap. Derv-doctor couldnt remap my cat after i travelled all the way down there. i got a dump valve fitted from him though.

I was under the belief the megs and the lagunas didnt share the same diesel engine apart from new 175DCi, but learn something everyday, you might want to ask Icarus, im sure he will see this post at somepoint, he knows his stuff when it comes to tuning

im currently on diesel bob tunning. he does all sorts of tunning plus injectors. i will see wot he recommends to me. just want that little bit extra out of it hehe!!!

and i cant up grade the injectors because it common rail system. fookin brillaint!!!!

must be pretty nippy cos the GT dci 150 and RS dci 175 are both heavier than your 1.9 - well over 10% at about 150kg for a 175

that equivalent to about 15-20bhp!

the car is pretty nippy yeah. didnt know it was lighter than the other 2 diesels though!!! i thought my car was heavy.

would be nice to compare the power to weight ratios of yours with a 225...

ow I know that just wandering what the difference in power to weight ratios would be, because if your pushing 360Nm of torque at the moment and the DCI175 puts out 360Nm of Torque and weighs 150Kgs more then the DCi 120, that in theory on power to weight gives you more torque then the DCi 175, I hope this makes sense...

ok so ive used the vehicle kerb weight for everything, I assume ive done this right:

I took the weight and divided it by the bhp / torque to give 1 Nm or 1BHp to weight in Kgs

So in theory, the DCi 120 appears to be the least powerful vehicle on power to weight, however this would all depend on how much power is actually put to the wheels and then actually delivered, obviously the figures are calculated without fuel in the car or a passenger or anything but base figures, I would be very happy with a DCi running 150BHp and 360Nm of torque, if u see below it put you over powering everything else on torque if they are left as standard and also beats the 175 on bhp to weight:

lol!!! a stayed in kings cross and went into the centre and done the tours with my girlfriend and went to the thertre to see mairy poppins lol!!!! i thought i was good. total change from glasgow.

ow god yeah londons so much better use to spend a lot of time up in bells hill with an ex who had family up there, use to get ill everytime i crossed the border, i came to the conclusion that I was allergic to scotland, although there are some great driving roads up there!

BELLSHILL no wonder (****hole) my girlfriend stays near there but to too near lol!!! some roads are good but most of them are all roads works. Road works every where. its unreal!!
