Range of options adds to Clio Renaultsport 197 thrill22/11/2007http://www.renaultsport.co.uk/RenaultImages/nl40_197cup1.jpg
Following the launch of the Clio Renaultsport 197 Cup, drivers ordering the original Clio Renaultsport 197 now have access to a range of new options that will enhance the sporty nature of the car. Leading the way among these is the Cup chassis, while a choice of Renault i.d. options each offer distinctive choice.
Adding the Cup chassis to the standard Clio Renaultsport 197 is guaranteed to put a smile on anyoneÂ’s face. Already seen on both the Clio Renaultsport 197 F1 Team R27 and the more recent Clio Renaultsport 197 Cup, the lower ride height and stiffer dampers and springs ensure hot handling while cornering at high speed.
Combined with the sportier feel of the car when adding the Cup chassis are stunning 17” anthracite alloy wheels and daring red brake callipers. Taken as a whole, this package is hard to beat for both looks and performance!
It’s all about choice with a host of new options available, which means you can really make your Clio Renaultsport 197 your own. Renault i.d. 17” Speedline wheels and Renault i.d. 17” Raider wheels are available as options with the both the standard chassis and the Cup chassis. The Speedline wheels are available in satin black or in white, as seen on the New Clio Cup race cars that feature on tracks across Britain in the ELF Renault Clio Cup.
Also intended to enhance the appearance of the car is the Renault i.d. satin chrome exterior pack, which adds a chrome finish to the air extractors in the front wings and the door mirror casings.
Inside the car, drivers can add Renault i.d. leather trim to the standard seats, although leather is not available if Recaro seats are ordered. The dark carbon colour leather with contrasting trim gives a distinctive aesthetic element to the driverÂ’s cabin.
All these options are in addition to those that have been available since Clio Renaultsport 197 was launched last year. These include climate control, electric heated folding door mirrors, electric panoramic sunroof and Recaro Renaultsport front seats.

The most striking option is Glacier White paint, the Renault i.d. colour that provides a stunning contrast with the regular 17” anthracite alloy wheels that come as part of the Cup specification. Racing blue is the standard colour of Clio 197 Cup, while Nimbus is the other choice available to new buyers.
Customers have the option of darker wheels in the form of satin black Renault i.d. 17” Speedline wheels. The seven-spoke design wheels are the same style as those found on the New Clio Cup race car.
To add to the racing feel, Renaultsport Recaro seats are another option available. Sculpted to ‘hug’ the driver the seats combine beautifully with the Cup chassis to bolster the sensation of speed and control. Choosing this option necessitates the removal of the standard anti-submarining and the front passenger airbag deactivation function.
Driver safety and comfort are the priority with the remaining two options. Curtain airbags help to increase the already high safety standard of Clio 197 Cup in the event of an accident. Meanwhile, air conditioning is sure to be a popular choice in preparation for the summer months.
Clio Renaultsport 197 retails at £15,995 while the Cup version is £14,995. To find your nearest Renault dealer visit www.renault.co.uk (http://www.renault.co.uk/).
