Can any one help with a problem i have. when i come to a stop at a junction, push the clutch and the revs shoot up to 3000 and stay there until i move off, but then it then tries drive it self.
I only ask cos my wife will have to use it soon, and though i can handle what it is doing, i am worried about her driving it.
Thanks

Which engine is it? You may need to clean the throttle body

just had a word with a couple of our rte guys.it sounds like the idle valve is sticking.this is on the inlet manifold,at the back near the bulkhead on the right hand side.
hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for your help, found the problem. A switch clip had been knocked off by the garage that i asked to have a look, when i had a problem with the brakes (idiots), clipped it back in and now things are ok.
So my advice is watch out when garages have a look at your car ( this one being Kwik-fit, not a so-called "cowboy" garage) cos they may be pulling things that have nothing to do with what your car went in for.
