Finally yesterday we got down to the harbour and booked the boat to come over for the FCS :biggthumpup:

Was it expensive?

Yes!

However we cashed in our shell vouchers and put them towards the ticket too so that helped quite a bit.

Our particular bit of rock is expensive to get off but we're kind of used to it.

No we won't make the world series this year i'm afraid, shame cos it sounds like fun.

Cost of getting off the rock for the weekend for me, Rich and 1 clio - getting into Poole at midnight Friday and leaving from Poole late afternoon Monday - £420!!!! :wtf:

Hence why we don't come to the UK very often!

We're about 100 miles away from the south coast of England but only 12 miles away from France. It takes about 4 hours on the fast sea cat to get to Poole whereas it's only an hour and a bit to get to St Malo.

However if the weather is bad (like today) you can't get on or off the Island and neither can anything else (food, mail, newspapers anything) but we're kind of used to it.

You have an airport in Jersey which must be a huge bonus!

I know because I work for easyjet and we fly to Jersey from Luton now :)

Ryan - the Easyjet flights are quite good but not particularly handy for bringing your car to a car show on!

Yes we have lots of lovely Jersey cows over here and very fond of them we are too.

We do have a 40mph speed limit - with an island 9 miles x 5 miles the roads are very generally very narrow (which is why numpty holidaymakers driving down the middle of them when it's 2 way traffic aren't popular!).

Anyway seeing as how Condor have now cancelled the boat we had booked on leaving us with another one that's even more expensive we'll just have to wait until Dieppe in September to catch up with you all, we just ain't got the funds to spend stupid amounts of money to come to England for a weekend....for the same amount we can go to the South of France for a whole week!!:beach[1]: :beach[1]:

Rich & Dooby, Hope you have'nt cancelled your tickets and accommodation! coz me and Laura are happy to take you both to the french car show by picking you two up at Southampton or Bournemouth airport then onto Rockingham.
