All,
Ever since the Xmas meet and the money we raised, I have been doing a bit of work and have managed to arrange to do something more for the air ambulance.
After meeting with Mark and Gordon, (FCS organisers) and Jeremy Townsend, RenaultSport Press Relations Manager, they have given the go ahead and offered support for Meganesport to hold a charity prize draw at the events. With some of the prizes to be even bigger and better than the xmas do.
The French car show have shown their support by giving us the centre stand for the event. Things are still in motion for the World Series. But at the very least, there will be a prize draw. I am also looking at the possibility of a charity Auction.
The Air Ambulance totally relies on donations, needing £1.4 million pounds to keep it in the skies. There is no government or lottery funding and relies on people like yourself to keep it going. It doesn’t just cover Northants and Warwickshire, it covers all over the place, as it is one of only a handful that always has a Doctor on board.
The largest single donation that the Air Ambulance has received to date is £27,000, of which I want to try and beat. Hopefully with your help !!!. People say im mad, but if we don’t try, we don’t achieve.
The WNAA are holding a stand with ourselves and are going to be selling prize draw tickets throughout the events to be drawn towards the end of the day.
I have set up another website, separate to Meganesport, advertising the charity prize draw at this yearÂ’s events. It is still being polished off and the dates for the World Series need to be changed as they are last years !! Before anyone mentions it.
This site is called www.will-i-am.org.uk
I wanted this prize draw to be extended to not only members on our forum, but to other car enthusiasts and people in general to give them a chance to raise some money and have some great prizes in return. Every penny raised will be donated to the WNAA charity which will help go towards keeping the air ambulance in the sky, saving lives. After speaking with the other Mods, we thought that this should be our chosen charity for the year.
The purpose of this message was firstly to put you all in the picture. Sorry ive not done it sooner, I needed to see if I could get it off the ground, before I started announcing things that were not going to happen.
So How can you help?
Well, turn up at one of the events, if your able to come along. DonÂ’t worry, im not going to get you to dress up. Although if Welsharab and Matty want to, they can. The Air Ambulance will be doing most of the work.
Im looking at holding the Month of June as the main fundraising month, as both shows are during that time.
Literally everything and anything you can do to raise a few quid to stick in the pot will be a great help. I have started approaching several companies to get them to donate some prizes. If you think you can help get some great prizes, then please do.
The French Car Show is expecting a crowd turn out of at least 10,000 people, whilst World Series by Renault was hitting in excess of 130,000 last year, with this year set to look even bigger. So a few huge prizes would be great.
Renault as you know has already played a key part to this by producing a one off colour in a limited run of only 500 RenaultSport 197 F1 Team R27. (JimboÂ’s car) Their support is set to continue for this yearÂ’s French Car Show and World Series by Renault.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any ideas or can think of a way to help raise a couple more quid.
I have set up a separate email address as I am expecting a few emails. I can be emailed on admin@will-i-am.org.uk or via pm through this site.
There will be lots more to follow and ill keep you all updated.
