1st problem is the air con has decided to pack up now we are starting to get abit of hot weather here and there, last year it was making a funny smell, but after using some spray wat a garage toldme to get this then stopped(cant remember wat the spray was called) now its not working at all could it just need regasing??
and secondly my exhaust seems to be making a loud noise from roughly just under the back seats, not looked if its blowing yet this is wat i assume is the problem but wat ever speed i do at what ever revs im at the noise is always at the same level,
my main concern is the air con as im sure i prob just need a new exhaust, any1 any ideas and how much it is to get them re-gased
cheers liam :shiny[1]:

In theory as long as all the connections are sealed on the air con system it wont smell and wont need regassing, how often do you get your fridge regassed? Not often !

In reality the systems leak and thus allow bacteria into the system giving that nasty rotted smell and eventually allow most of the refrigerant to escape.

Most peoples fridges are on continuously. Yes the compressor is not always running but it would be fair to say that it would at least once a day.

I'm not sure how leaky air-con allows bacteria in? It was my understanding that the bacteria and the smells come from water not evaporating off the condensor.

ANyway, back to the OPs question. Take it to Kwik Fit :) £45 and they'll drain it, check it for leaks, regas and reoil it. If it doesn't fix it (ie. it's not a low gas problem), they wont charge you.
