Anyone else had a problem with theirs?

Friend of mine has on 06 reg one and both sides have started to leak.

Its under warranty but two dealerships have told her they'll investigate it fop X amount per hour. Once tried to tell her it was wear and tear.

What the f*ck is that all about?? Surely its faulty? She's only had the car a couple of months as well and they're trying to fob her off.

Your thoughts please?

I've advised her to get in touch with Renault head office as well as they normally kick dealerships butts into check.

Dont know much about them but i've seen at two CC cars at seperate garages with a water jet running constantly onto the roof - i'm guessing to check whether it still leaks. Looks like a common problem

Can be a common problem for lazy people that don't clean the seal. ie when you wash the car, they just push all the crap in to the join. so when the roof next moves crap falls on to the seal.

could be as easy as giving ita wash clean and then running a small amount of silicon spray over the rubber.

There is a pm from renault that says: Replace the clips that holds the A-pillar exterior list that will stop the leakage if not replace the rubber list

my car is currently backwards and forwards to renault with roof leaks, they appear to be coming in the rear roof joint above the back seat, so they adjusted the passenger side window?? which led to water coming in and filling the passenger side door pocket. it has been back again and they once again adjusted both passenger windows and touch wood my car is now dry.................... lets see what happens in some proper rain though...... they should be looking at your friends car under warranty, they are doing it for mine and my car is the same age.

Hmm interesting, seems as though the problem is totally uncommon then.

I'll get her to check the seals for any dirt that may have been caught up. I just find it hard to believe that a dealer could try and claim it as wear and tear rather than under warranty.

we have had a few cc,s in with this problem, and our techs have found that sometimes the join between the front of the roof and the screen is TOO tight,so that the seal gets compressed incorrectly.

There are various mods to do with the front screen seal and the side seals and adjustment of the windows all of which take a lot of time and care to do but once done should be ok.
The mods are a waranty issue as long as the car is within waranty and there has been no body repairs etc in the related areas.
Although u may still get the odd drip.
Recomened u contact ur local renault dealer and ask them to look at it again.

She's spoken to both local dealers and told the same thing. 'We'll look at it for £75 an hour to diagnose the problem'.

She's gonna get in touch with Renault Customer Services and go down that route I think.

Croydon and Epsom. Wilsons is the one in Epsom and they are notorious for being absolutely shocking when it comes to after sales service.

My CC's roof also leaks where both sides onto the seats! The nissan dealer it was bought from failed to fix it after 4 visits.

The roof also makes a rattling sound when closed which is extremely annoying. Any tips on these two problems would be appreciated.

I am a specailist in these water leaks and each megane can take 25 hours to fix. Some renault dealers will simply not repair them or fob people off because they can ould claim between 12 and 18 hours to fix them. The nissan dealer wouldnt have a clue.
