Hello all

New to the site and have just been to my local Renault dealer and had a look around a Megane F1. I have fallen for it badly! I own a Clio 182 which will soon be sold to make way for a meggy. Do you guys think I should go for the F1 or a black gold full fat with recaros and cup chassis?

Seen a FF with cup chassis in Ultra Blue which looked the dogs, not really sure of the black alloys on the F1.

Thanks for the welcome and suggestions guys. I have a dilemma though, my wife thinks that I am changing the 182 for something a little more practical, which is fine, go for the 5 door.... But, I love the shape of the 3 dr and also really want Recaros, I think I could be dead meat...

Just say the 5 door is £25k and 5k more than the 3door also there's more room in the back of the 3 door!!!

I have 5 door - I think it has more room than 3 door, and compared against 3dr clio I have - its SO much easier getting people in and out the back, plus I don't get mud up the backs of the seats as they get in and out.

Welcome & go for whichever shape & seats you like as you'll be in it for a few years.

Having just maxed out the clan I can tell you that 1 child carseat & 1 baby-lay-down-cot-thingy (that's the technical name) fit into the back of the megane using up all 3 seats. As long as you have isofix seats no problem with 3 or 5 door.

Finally done it! After testing the Focus ST, the Astra VXR and being shocked by the price of a Golf GTI I have ordered the one that was my fave all along.....Black 225 with cup pack and xenons is arriving September :twisted:

Cannot wait! But will be sad to see the back of my 182.

You'll be over the moon mate got mine a week or so ago!

how come people are ordering ff's then adding the cup pac k is it not cheaper to do it the other way arround?

and is it just me or dose the newer ones look a bit tame compared to the so say older ones

yea you can have a 3dr cup non FF which has cup pack as standard and then add recaro`s for to bring it to the same price as a FF with cup pack but, having owned a FF 172 and now a 172cup there is usually more missing than just a bit of leather, all the door trim usually turns to grey rough cloth, keycard entry vanishes, airbags on the side with recaro`s go (a reason to buy megane is safety it will still be safe but its nice to have all the airbags) aircon is there but its not climate, the lights in sunvisors usually get deleted, small ammounts of sound insualtion are moved where reno think it will have least impact etc.. and in this case blue cloth seats non matter what colour the exterior is can make a mismatching car.

but you still have a point, cup with recaros is same price.

leather in the cup comes with orange spot type things in it and looks quite smart

Cancelled my order for new 225...............But...................Bought a pre registered BLACK F1 from the dealer!!!!!!!!!! Apparently one of two mis-builds that have made it into the country. Picking it up today, will try to post some more pics later. Sorry about the quality of this one.

I had ordered one exactly the same as yours, but when I saw the F1 I thought it would be silly not to buy it.

Had the car a few days now and it is great, a couple of niggles though; the steering wheel does not seem to be on straight (?) and the car seems to want to pull left. Anyone else had these probs?

Maybe it is just the camber on the roads, or just that the steering feels very different from my old 182

get your tracking properly checked and full laser alingment at renault dont mess about with that stuff otherwise theres no point in owning a 225

can't believe you have got a black F1!!! lucky bleeder!!! why are they only being sold in blue over here??

With regard to the pulling to the left....I checked the tyre pressures this morning and it seems Renault like to send customers away with different pressures for each wheel! Sorted them now and it seems to have helped with the left hand bias. Steering wheel is still on wonky though.
