: **updated 1/4 miling day confirmed for 24th September @ York
Jon Seal 31-05-2006, 20:07:49 I'm in touch with York Raceway at the moment about having a 1/4 mile shootout.
What I thought we could do is invite some of the Focus ST, Astra VXR and Golft GTI boys up to york for a "Turbo Hatch" competition. If each club we approach gets its best 5 or 6 cars up to york and we basically see what times we can all get.
I've not got a date confirmed yet but it will be sometime between July and September. Its intended as a light hearted get together really although I'm sure everyone will be competitive ;) Should give us all chance to have a poke round the oppositions cars too and hopefully make a nice day out
If your intrested in running your megane on the day post here and I'll keep this thread updated as and when I get info. When we get a date sorted I'll go to the other clubs to sort the other cars out. In the meantime if you have mates with a VXR, Focus ST or golf GTI point them this way!
Matmaxedout 31-05-2006, 20:12:33 we'll have to put all the cars from rs tuning up front but not tell anyone, that would really worry them when they get hammered by a couple of hundered metres
Jimbo 31-05-2006, 20:22:01 i know i dont drive a 225  but i'd still like to take part if thats ok?!
Jon Seal 31-05-2006, 20:23:23 yeah totally fine Jimbo, main aim of the event is just to have a good day out!
Jimbo 31-05-2006, 20:25:03 cheers jon. was good to finally meet you on sunday :) i need to better my times lol :)
Matmaxedout 31-05-2006, 20:29:03 you dont need to better your times jim, as you'll beat him
but next time close your window (causes less drag)
Jimbo 31-05-2006, 20:31:12 lol, i did close it on the second run, got it down by half a second on the 0-60. just need to get the take off right now :)
pjdt77 31-05-2006, 22:17:54 Don't mind giving it a go Jon, if I can get time off work, sundays always easier. Never done it before so will probably stall or miss a gear and look a nob. However as mine is tuned to the max it may give us a chance , if someone with experience gives me some coaching, I might be ok. Slightly different discipline to Rallycross, however like you say will be fun.
Cheers Phill. I can drive fast in a straight line.......except on a drag strip, my 19 stone might slow me down.
denty225 31-05-2006, 22:21:53 Sounds like a plan. And a venue not too far away for a change :D

It's a bloody long way. We normally turn it into a weekend in York.

rightfootplanted 04-09-2006, 20:13:41 It's only 1hr 17mins for me so might be tempted.
Might be a good start to my holidays which I go on the day after!!!

GazKerr 07-09-2006, 22:06:02 I'll be well up for this. It'd be good to see some meg's on a strip instead of the usual scoobies etc. plus up against the VXR and focus at last!!
It's not that far either, only up the M62
Alonso225 12-09-2006, 12:09:42 Fantastic! Just in time to test my NOx system!

denty225 18-09-2006, 23:05:50 Looks like there will be some tough competition. http://york-raceway.co.uk/homepage.html Check the events page.
RS-Tuning 19-09-2006, 11:06:26 Hell yeah, there is going to be some 9 second road legal ones there
Paul
Jon Seal 19-09-2006, 16:58:26 Entry from memory is about 8 quid and its 15 for unlimited runs up the strip, might have gone up a bit since lat time I was there. Also if you have access to one bring a helmet as you need to wear one. You can hire one free but if its busy you wont get one.
Looks like we will be going in the Run what ya brung, after making a few enquiries I think RWYB is better for getting more runs in than if you do a knockout competition.
denty225 23-09-2006, 16:57:01 £10 in and £25 to run.
What time are we aiming to get there for?
RS-Tuning 23-09-2006, 19:01:31 Anyone?
meggerman 23-09-2006, 22:01:09 only just noticed this il try pop along is it £10 just to watch ?
also what time is it ? pretty important imo
RS-Tuning 23-09-2006, 23:59:17 I'm setting off at 10 with a couple of mates so should be there at 11 ish i think
Paul
