Hi there,
Newbie here. Ordered my Meg225 2 weeks ago from buyacar (£14750).
Cant believe I've started to think about mods already! It's an addiction!
Just purchased some lexus rear lights (although after reading various posts on here, doesn't seem that they are compatible with the 2006 facelift model).
Looking at dump valves now. Are they easy to fit?
I think the ICE might need some work as well.
OK, I'm getting carried away now, must calm down! It has been 8 years since I was last into the modding scene. Anyone remember the Astra GTE16v?
Anyway, looking forward to getting my new Meg and reading this great board.
Bruce.

Lights will need a bit of creative wiring, the dump valve is dead easy apparently.

Welcome to the site mate!

Just got mine!

Haven't stoped playing with bits on it here and there.

Lots of mods to be done!

What colour/spec did you go for?

You'll like the phase II lights and probably end up keeping them standard!

Dump valves are pretty simple to fit mate unless they put the jubilee clip on the wrong way around!

But easy in all fairness mate 10 minute job! 8)

hi mate, welcome to the club,

what colour and options have you gone for??

you could fit the lights but you'll have to change the wiring as its not straight forward swop over but theres a wiring diagram on here.

you will not be dissapointed when you get it, as there rockets

Gone for the Albi blue 3dr fullfat model. Didn't bother with any extras, thought i'd save the money for mods instead.
I'll probably look at selling the lexus rear lights, electrics aren't my strong point and don't really fancy risking anything going wrong.

Welcome along,

Sure you can rely on this site for any advice/help you need.

As for the Astra GTE, I've had 2 of those through my years loved the cars but only managed to get into the 8v models, Still got to have plenty of fun in them though :D

welcome aboard Bruce, dump valve real easy to fit, you need an exhaust to get a decent sound out of your beast. Where did you get you lexus lights from and how much did you pay m8. Cheers Phill

Phill,
I purchased the lights off of ebay. Really wish I hadn't now. The seller said that they were brand new and never been fitted on his car. What a pack of lies! When I unpacked them the two mounting screws were broken due to over tightening, the indicator bulb holder was cracked, and the clear lens covers were cracked on both lights! Couldn't believe it! I'm currently trying to get a refund via paypal.
What makes it worse is that I wasn't going to fit them anyway after reading that they weren't compatible with the facelift model. I was plannig to sell them as soon as I got them!
Oh well, that will teach me to buy bargains off of fleebay!
By the way I paid £75.

Bruce.

I hope you get your money back off him, I would complain to E Bay say they weren't as described and damaged. Try and resolve it with him first.
Let us know how you get on with your 225, you will love it. Phill J
