Right after a slight rethink on our holiday arrangements this year we are go go go for Ring trip number 3!!!

We are actually going on a 2 week Euro road trip (long time ambition of mine!). We're setting off doing Hull/Rotterdam on the 29th May So we will be arriving in Adenau on Saturday 30th and staying there one night. The Ring in actually open all that weekend including the Monday so it would be an ideal weekend for a trip.

I'm just busy planning the rest of the route at the moment but we'll probably go for the Hotel An Der Nordschleife again but it would be a brilliant start to our break if we could have some good pals there with us!

Just need to enquire with Eddy what the availability is but probably best thing to do is each party just book direct with the hotel.

Let me know if you might be interested and I'll see if they have space.

A rough guide 10 laps a day is good going on a typical full Touristenfahrten day.

I did 16 last trip, probably just get a couple in this year, we have a long way to after that!

Public days are under constant threat of being stopped. They are already vastly reduced from what they used to be. This year theres are only a handfull of full weekends of public lapping :(

Yeah thats the main issue, Germany have a strong green lobby too. They are trying to reduce reliance on the public lapping days for income. When we were there last year there was a huge building site in progress thats basically going to be a theme park. I would guess that when thats up and running public lapping will be a special event :(

Well luckily the local Government own 90% of the company that operates the 'ring. That probably explains why they still have public access now.

Sounds like a plan. Thinking of stopping a couple of nights in Amsterdam on the way back too if we don't end up doing the big euro trip.

So have we any takers then? I know it's fairly expensive but it's an awsome break. I'm always amazed that we don't have more people come to the ring trips. It probably works out just as cheap as dieppe but with ten times the adrenaline hit!

I may join you at the 'Ring for the wknd but I'll be heading to Belgium for the Renaultsport trackday at Spa on Monday 1st June. We'll be getting to the 'Ring on Friday evening for a couple of laps then leave Sunday Lunch.

We had planned to go to the 'Ring after Spa but with the Rock Fest at the wknd its only open Tues evening.

Sorry guys we're going to do the Brands Hatch track day instead now as no-one is really interested. Jody is still a jobless hippy and I don't fancy the drive over all by myself :( :(

No probs m8 our plans are up in the air at the moment for various reasons. We might reschedule for August/September but maybe not.

I will be over there for the weekend of the 30th. A forst with the R26 spent the last two years threre with the CSL.

Should be a good weekend but busy, speaking to a couple of locals over the last two weeks and they are saying everyone and there granny seems to be going this weekend!

Personally I don't think tourist days will end any time soon, but again local knowledge says they don't like the Brit contingents who all seem to feel that a few laps on a playstation give them the ability to drive the ring, this is probably why they are cutting the full weekends down. Anybody who has done these kind of weekends before will all tell you about track closures and they always seem to caused by either a motorbike or a UK plated car.

I will be at the spa trackday on the 1st june then an the ring on the tuesday 2nd with my R26. Not long now ;)
