If there is evidence that LH and McLaren deliberately "lied" to the Stewards, then disqualification is inevitable and appropriate.

Does seem very strange that the FIA would go looking for evidence of such behaviour after the event without the prompt of an appeal from Trulli/Toyota.

Presumably the FIA will now be reviewing VT of some of Schumachers (M)'s more dubious bits of driving with a view to reretrospectively removing a few World Championships from him!

Just seen this on the news.

There'll never be any evidence to prove whether they deliberately omitted information or not, but perhaps the decision of not appealing says more?

Final race results won't be decided until they've finished with the diffuser controversy

Thats BS, end of the day Trulli overtook when the safety car was out. I know Hamilton did it first, but Trulli had spun off the track!

Season was looking good, but the governing body are numpties.

No one cares, that's why no one watches F1 on TV or goes to the races :tt2:

Micky

O, is that the case. I might stop watching it then.

What a silly thing to say

its just the typical FIA to be honest.

This season was meant to be better for stewards decisions etc but up o now they have spoilt what started off as a good season.

I think its discrimination against mclaren again to be honest.

Toyota qualified with an illegal rear wing yet there results still stand.

They then thought that trulli passed under yellow flags so give him a time penalty. Yet Hamilton qualified in a legal car and passed to let people past to abide by the rules yet gets thrown out of the race. It puzzles me how you can throw Hamilton out of the racecompletely yet let Trulli who qaulified in an illegal car, then passed under yellow flags gets a penalty. Should Hamilton not have recieved a time penalty also if they thought he had done wrong???

I really don't understand how these numpties keep getting away with it.

The same people look after the World GT championships and they take ech other out at times yet they have no action took against them.

The problem now is that Ferrari are doing poor so therefore Mclaren are not allowed to score points. So much for it being a good season this year if this continues.

I really enjoyed the race and yet again its been spolit by Stewards that don't know what they are on about.

I think they should actually have F1 fans on the council rather than businessmen that are only interested in the big compny names and riches that comes their way

Anyway Rant over

Couple of points here

1) The Toyota wing was changed, times thrown out and the cars started from the pitlane. Thats the end of that issue.

2) McLaren have not been thrown out for what happened on track, they have been thrown out for having attempted to mislead the Stewards.

I can see why Hamilton fans think he gets unfair treatment sometimes.

Tbh i cant stop smiling at this though , when will the stupidity end ?

Would like to know how far off the track Trulli went to allow Lewis to overtake him.

but hamilton finished the race in fourth, so if the stewards decide trulli was correct then that result should have stood, right? and what could mclaren have supposedly said to influence the result, don't tv camera's give a good enough indication of what was going on?

AGREED.....and they didn't (McLaren) appeal against the decision.....'fair cop guvnor' IMO

Seano

Again spot on..............but not quite sure how this evidence came to light when Toyota didn't appeal. Also Lewis may have been told to let Trulli past, but knowing the rules he should have hung back knowing that a penalty would have been imposed. God I love the FIA ! :hang:

Bring on Malaysia :)

here,s a thought 4 u to mull over!! it,s obvious that some people in F1, have a real problem with Lewis, do we think it,s cause he,s english and clearly the best driver on the grid or is there another reason???

TBH, reading between the lines, McLaren deserve it. Seems that Hamilton let Trulli pass to have 3rd, realised he shouldn't have let him and then tried to get it back by complaining.

If they shut up and took 4th, they'd have done a hell of a lot better than Ferrari.

The whole thing is getting way overblown now.

Lessons in morality from the FIA led by a man that procures prostitutes to thrash him - nah, I don't think so.

Well I think the conspiracy theories have been well and truly put to bed by Hamilton's press conference. There's a link on drivers republic in the F1 community section, fair play to him for being honest and admitting he deliberately lied. The question and answers are on autosport.com
