Indeed, cause the Focus RS will cock a rear wheel whilst being driven by Miss Daisy!?

Truth is that Millbrook Alpine circuit is twisty and technical so there's very little opportunity for the RS to use its extra power and the additional weight of the 2.5 engine etc make it pretty easy prey for a relatively light and well sorted Clio.

Clearly you're never going to waste the RS in the Clio but it's good to know you can hang on to its coat tails none the less.

That rs looked like a handful, maybe it's just me tho.

Lets remember though that it wouldn't be much of a 'chase' video if the RS romped off into the distance would it!

Also with regard to the car looking a handful - remember who the target audience for the video is, its car enthusiasts who want to see some lairy driving, not some neat precise lines (again that wouldn't make for an exciting video).

That said I've no doubt on a tight twisty track like that the 200 would keep up. At the end of the day the cars were never at WOT for more than a few seconds at a time without needing to brake/turn etc so the RS wouldn't be able to demonstrate its power advantage.

In terms of real world pace though the FRS will be a lot quicker - look at lap times not far off those of an R26R. Which in turn is comfortably quicker than the current 197 ( and I wouldn't excpect much difference for the 200)

The Fat Ford strays off piste into the lithe grolly green 200’s natural hunting ground. Easy meat.

The Clio's are quick and are superb at handling. They do give the Meganes a good run for their money.

What utter retards are posting those comments? Nissan GTR, Gallardo, GT3 RS, Caterham, Ariel Atom are all cars that are mentioned. And all cars that would destroy the RS so why on earth would they bother making a video of it.

It's like saying 'Ferrari F430 has Peugeot 106 running scared'. Well yeah it would but no-one would waste time making a video of the obvious :owned:

I think the R26R would have left the others quite easily on that track.
One thing to consider, is that the new RS250 should be faster than the Clio.
So once again Renault could be building the best handling hot hatch.

The significant weight advantage cancels out most of the extra 100bhp - the power/weight ratios must be quite close.
Also the physical mass of thr RS in the twisties must give the Clio a distinct handling advantage.

I had a ride in an RS yesterday after meeting up with 2 new owners, and was impressed by the torque, the noise, but not left feeling regretful about getting my .R at all. It really does feel like nothing special when inside.

I then took one of the RS owners for a run in mine whilst the other guy chased us down Ford's test route near Dunton in his RS, needless to say I didnt' have any issues, though I had significantly more knowledge of the roads, I think. He phoned the other guy from home later on and I'm told the opening line was something like "cor, that thing's fast, isn't it?!"

lol nice to see the RS boys are impressed with the french climbing frame mate :D ive got to wait til USC to get my passenger ride/test drive but im really looking forward to it tbh
