Looks like Mosley might have some competition should his arrogance and vanity cause the sexual deviant to run again as President of the FIA in October - which is really good news.

Ari Vatanen the 1981 world championship winning rally driver would be an excellent candidate for the job, having both a good relationship with the manufacturers and experience of European politics.

Rallying almost killed him and so I'm sure that motorsport safety would remain a serious issue with him in charge.

For those that don't know of him, here's a link of him driving @ Pikes Peak

He's the sort of guy that it would be a pleasure to shake his hand, rather than the sense of revulsion that normal people feel if forced to encounter the deviant.

saw this today...

so the council can vote for a racing legend or a dirty, fascist git...

they will no doubt go with the second choice!

Yes the Pikes Peak car's were no things of beauty - I guess the last Hurrah of Group B excess taken to the extreme for the American market - outrageously quick though.

There's a MG 6R4 in TimeAttack and I look at it and can never make my mind up. For sure its the stunted red head step child beat with the ugly stick, but its very quick and purposeful. When you look under the skin it's amazingly beautiful from an engineering perspective. They have a second yellow one thats for sale for 1 million!

But that rear wing is ummh. Then again it is a Pigoff and the drop is a long way!

But Bernie says that theres nothing wrong with being a fascist - apparently they get things done! Perhaps not the things that the rest of us want getting done, but done never the less.

Perhaps its time that they were both got rid of.

Shame that Lancia didn't put one on Henri Toivenen's car.

Being a little more serious, banning the Group B rally cars within a few hours of Henri's death was probably Jean Marie Balestre's biggest contribution to Motorsport.

That said I do like like the 6R4 and there was an RS200 parked near to it at Brands a couple of weeks ago - but they were cars too fast for rallying.
