Felipe Massa was hit in the helmet by an errant piece of Reuben Barichello's Brawn rear suspension and won't be racing on Sunday. He's being operating on for skull damage this evening and is seriously concussed. Hopefully he should make a full recovery, but was very lucky. Looks like he was pretty well knocked out with the impact and had his feet pressed on both the gas and the brakes.

Meanwhile Alonso made his own prediction come true by taking pole. The timing system display failed at the end of the 3rd session.

Alonso is running really light.

Just had a quick look it was a spring that hit Massa, he pulled just over 5G when he came to a stop. after it hit he applied the brakes but was also still on full throttle. Really nice bloke, lets hope he makes a full recovery

I thought it wasn't that hard an impact when looking at the BBC's replays. Shows the helmets are up to the job!
