Hello Everyone,

Great forum ive been reading it for the last month, i looked at so many cars before i finally settled down with the 225... bmw 1 series, seat leon cupra r, honda civic type r, audi a3 2.0T, alfa gta and probs countless others, infact i didnt know a great deal about the 225 and still dont actually know that much now! I researched the other cars so much but every time there was always something about them that put me off. the BMW was soo downmarket inside and had absolutly no extras and was so expensive. the audi a3 2.0t was a similar story, alfa gta i thought was beautifull but at the end of the day its an alfa and id rather have a car i can depend on. honda civics are driven by every ethnic and rood boy chav and the interior did not do it for me. and the seat leon cupra r has just had the new model out and the old shape didnt excite me as ive seen many on the roads...

I saw a blue 225 on a wednesday at a renault garage in Shirley. It was impressive, cup pack, face lift, leather recaros, cabasse stereo, didnt have zenons even though the dealer said it had. ended up that the 06 car that had done near 7000 miles in 3 months had also been chipped - and the dealer would not budge on the £16,000 asking price, i tried buymynewcar.com and they were excellent but they only had an inferno in stock and i like that colour but i was set on the blue... anyway by the saturday i went to motorpoint and picked up a blue pre face lift 06 with 4 miles on the clock, cd changer and zenons for £13,999 and now im well happy with it im also only 21 and managed to find insurence so that made me even happier! im on cloud 9 atm it really is a great car, not so hard to drive that your teeth shake out and not so soft that its clumbsy... for me its perfect ....smooth when u want it and then when u put your foot down unbelivably brutal!!! and im getting 27mpg! oh happy days

anyway ive got a few photos of my car, ive no idea how i post photos seeing as this is the first forum ive ever registered on so some help with that please!

This forum looks like a collection of top people no doubt i will spend most of my office hours on this!

Hello matt how you doing!

Great introduction!

What price you paying on your insurance? Just wondered as i've only just turned 22.

With regards to adding pictures,

Go to www.imageshack.us and browse for the picture you want to upload, once you've done that copy the 'Direct link to image' address.

Then put it between this PUT THE URL HERE

So you'll be left with something like this

www.image.com but without any spaces

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for advice, in answer to your question...ive just turned 21, i have 3 years ncb one sp30 conviction with no ban  37mph in a 30 breakin the laww breakin the laww!

Direct line quoted me... £550 if i went under my dads name (but still could earn ncb discounts) he wasnt too keen on me ruining his clean bill so wasnt allowed to do that, so im insured in my name and that cost £880 with i think £350 excess, garaged and 10k annually. the house and my other car is insured with direct line (which i am trying to sell, VW lupo anyone??) so i think thats why it was affordable, again i tried possibly 20-40 other insurence companys...confused.com was deff not very good for me with the cheapest quote starting at £3500 going onto £4500 and most other companys took all my details down and then said...21??? im sorry you have to be 25 to insure this car byee! id be interested to hear what other people are paying, but im pretty sure ive got a really good deal. I was also insured with direct line on my first car and for me they were very good dealing with a claim...but thats another story!

Welcome, the more the merrier.

Your insurance quotes look quite good. Wait to get old like me, and you will see premiums in the £270 range

LOL - know what you mean about the M42 - used to live in Solihull myself a few years ago. Have to say though that as much as a pita as the cameras are it was a lot worse on there before the traffic mangement.

I'm not too far away - I'm the other side of Coventry - just outside Rugby. Hopefully see you next time we get a meet in this area.
