: I'm tempted!

I can't help but love the RS Twingos and thinking that in a year or so, one would make a nice replacement to my daily runner, my Lupo Sport.

Question is, from those people that have driven them, are they as good as I'm imagining them to be?

I'm thinking that they have super chuckable handling and a nice spritely engine but nothing too major.

Is there a replacement due as with most RenaultSports, you buy one and Renault then out do it with a new variant.

Your thoughts? :)

They are epic mate, the feel and the handling are spot on, only thing that was a slight let down for me was the revvy engine.

Yeah I have read that the peak power is right at the top of the rev range so you'd have to keep it on the boil to get the most from it.

Then again can't be that difference to a Clio 172 althought with less power.

I'm wondering how much, if at all faster than my Lupo it would be. Not sure how much they weight but my Loop is 117bhp and weighs pretty much a tonne.

i think they are great looking cars, great fun to drive and handles immensly, but i was really disapointed with the interior, if it came with recaros and xenons i would probably be driving one 2day

1,000 crabs is pretty hardcore. I'd be gutted with just one haha.

Sounds like they get a big thumbs up on here then. :)

I'm being a bit of a girl about it really as I'm loving a number of cars and really not sure what to go for. About this time next year I'll be in a postion to sell the Lupo (as much as I love it) and go for a big upgrade for the daily car.

I want to steer back towards Renault as although the Lupo is awesome I really don't think you can beat a RenaultSport hot hatch. So here's the list -

Clio 182 Trophy
Twingo 133
Clio 200
Clio V6

Now obviously there are some big differences in prices there but I'd be prepared to pay it for the right car.

Just need to balance up the running costs of doing about 4-5k a year and using it as a daily car. Practicality really isn't that important although a V6 might be tricky to park in a multistorey and down my driveway.

Twingo is awesome, had a go in one friday and it's such a good chassis. I like the funky interior layout too. Gets the thumbs up from me

The twingo is awesome,
I was fortunate enough to have a passenger ride on the said Dieppe trip,
All i can remember is.......
He's gonna have to brake,He's gonna have to brake,
Oh go on then he might not have to :)
Happy days

It's certainly been the car that's stood out most to me that's for sure. Love the funky dials interior etc.

Only thing is I'm kinda thinking MK1 V6 might be fun or a MKII if I'm a a bit more tempted.

I haven't driven a twingo but I owned a clio trophy before the meg. Absolutely brilliant car with immense handling. Probably one of the best hot hatches ever. I'd deffinately have another one. Superb!!!

Yeah the Trophy certainly is the ultimate RenaultSport Clio of that shape.

Only thing that puts me off is that I had a 172 that I got new back in 2003 and know the Trophy will be pretty similar.
