Hi there, newbie here, some of you may know me from cliosport as I am one of the admins on there, dave182.

Am looking at replacing the clio and at the moment the 197 is not doing anything for me and I have always had a soft spot for the 225 but after driving a standard suspension on at brands it did nothing for me, need to drive a cupped one as i really like the idea of a 225 with cup chassis, xenons and possibly the recaros.

Also looking at the Focus st as I can get a ST3 for the same price as the 225, decisions decisions.

Anyway hi and hopefully this place is as good as cliosport is and i will enjoy it as much.

thanks

David

Hi mate, and welcome to the site!

I was looking at loads of avenues before i set my heart on the 225, and it was the right decision!!!

Go for a 225 you know you want to!

Welcome along Dave,

It would seem pretty much natural progression to move from the Clio to the 225, most people have

Yeh me too.

I' not overly impressed with the standard suspension set up on our Phase 1, so test drove an ST, and although was very nice to drive, couldn't live with the awful interior.

Test drove a meggy with cup suspension, and it completely transforms the car, much more like our old 172, no constant adjust through the bends, just sticks and goes.

Recaro's are way better than standard seats, which I find a little short in the squab.

Go for it, you will not be disappointed

Welcome along Dave. You've can either get a cracking deal on the Focus or you've not seen the prices that you can get the 225 for! (Check out buymynewcar.co.uk if you haven't already!). Stick with Renault though - you know it makes sense (although you would expect us to say that wouldn't you :D )

Re the Recaros - great seats - but very much down to personal taste so make sure you try before you buy.

Thanks for the welcome guys! Yes I do need to test drive the 225 with cup chassis and also try the recaros as I have a large frame lol

As for the focus price, my uncle works for the RAF and he can get me the Focus ST3 with met paint for £15500 OTR first reg. owner so is a great deal and very similar to the 225 option!

Hi dude, I think you might be disappointed with anything other than Renault.

I had a Clio 172, and chopped it in for a Peugeot 206GTi 180, and was really disappointed. I test drove the Focus ST and even though it was nice, it's not a Renault. For me there's something about the RenaultSport models that captures the essence of sports cars :)

Anyway enough of that....welcome to the site :D

have the colours available changed recently as i don't recognise any of them?

ultra red i presume is a solid red?

ultra blue, is this the one on the F1?

are all the colours the same on the cup and FF225 because i thought they were different, the renaultsport website only lists ultra red, ultra blue, moonstone and black?

thanks

welcome aboard Dave, the cup chasis is quite stable, as the boys say, test drive them both you will make the right choice. I work for Ford and get chance to drive the ST quite a lot now, nice car, just not nice enough to beat a meggy.
Cheers Phill

Welcome mate, you need a Meg if you want to stay ahead. The Focus is slower you know?

As for colours i think they offer a very poor choice at the mo, the old black gold was like no other black I've seen and Infreno is a real head turner. Not seen the new silver but I can say the Ultra Blue is very nice, as on my F1!

Hope you make the right chioce :?:
