Hi all , just got an 04 megane 225 3 dr, no doubt I'll be browsing thru the technical stuff later to see what the most common faults are and what you really like about em. Not totally new to renaults though I also have an 04 Master van and had a new 05 clio 182 but sold it when it was exactly one year old.

Well I dont get it till the morning, and it's supposed to be for my wife, so I cant tell you too much about it at the moment other than its got some nice aftermarket alloys aswell as the original wheels, I dont think it's got xenons but it'll be a bonus if it has, I might be tempted to do a few discreet mods mainly for power, ie chip and maybe exhaust, not really into the modding scene and wouldn't dream of spending a fortune on it, I tend to keep things fairly standard and then save my money towards a new(er) / different car when I get bored. I've had a few fast cars ie a 99 BMW M5 chipped with the limiter removed, and a tricked up MR2 Turbo, that was probably faster than anything else I've ever driven but really scary handling when the turbo comes in especially in the wet , and a few years before that a 300 ZX twin turbo. I have a CLK 320 sport at the moment but I will probably sell that if the megane proves to be as good as I am expecting . I've only done about 800 miles in the CLK since I MOT'd it in april so its pointless keeping it really, my other toy is a Honda CBR1100XX superblackbird so the acceleration and top speed of the megane will seem a little tame anyway

welcome along rob, a fellow member lives in warrington and is a close friend of mine, DCP888 is his forum name and darryl is his real name,

as for your mods doing wat you said ie the zorst and power upgrade wont cost you megga bucks,

zorsts there a few of and blue flame and JWR seem to have the best cat back systems on the market at the mo but there are more if you fancy soink different, or you can have one made like some of us have.

the power issue is still on the biol as we are getting loads of feed back on them and are still in process of tuning a couple of 225 to get the power up.

one final thing wat upgrade wheels has yours got then ??

cheers for the welcome, I am sure I'll enjoy it, I knew as soon as I drove my wife's clio last year I should have paid the extra and got the magane, but you live and learn. Maybe in touch with you soon regarding some light mods

I didnt pay much attention, i think the centre cap said rs but i could be wrong, I got it out of the autotrader this week , its a met blue in at £10800 located near northwich (01606) you may be able to tell from the picture if you log on to the trader website , but I'll post a few pics tomorrow when ive sussed out how

Warrington is my head office but as it takes me the best part of 4 hours to get there on a good day I try to keep visits down to 1 every couple of months. At least I'll have some 225's to try and spot on the next run.
