Seems the Cup version gets a lot of praise.

I like the new car, but i still prefer the current model.

The cup defo sounds like the one to go for!

"Major differences over its 230hp predecessor are limited to sodium filled exhaust valves for additional cooling, new intercoolers and a larger turbo but more than 25 percent of its parts are new, says Renaultsport, and the engine's specific output is an impressive 125hp per litre"

Very exciting to hear

lets wait and see if that's true about the larger turbo ?
they keep going on about low down power and twin scrolled but no one else has mentioned it being larger.
Hope it is true, will make 300ps easy enough to achieve.

=For some, of course, the VW badge alone will be worth the extra, which I think goes to show there are some proper berks out there.

Fantastic :D

All French cars seem to be designed with this huge gap in the wheel arches. This takes away a lot for me, its the only real point of styling I dont like with my R26, and the new 250.

If you look at a German car its designed so the wheels fill the arches - The French companys need to take note of this.

I think this gap is what allows the French stuff to not shake your teeth out on less than perfect road surfaces. The German stuff seems to have terrible ride quality, the last BMW we were in left the other half wondering how ladies can drive these cars without a sports bra.

Its interesting to know there is a natural vibration harmonic for ladies booobs. You can get them really going in military helicopters, even with a sports bra.

The roads in france are terrible (still cobbled roads in some places)

German cars ride way to hard so they dont bottom out. Rear of a BMW mini is shocking.

Think the germanic fixation with run-flats don't help with this either!

Are you serious? From their town roads to their motorways and lanes in the middle of nowhere, they are generally excellent to exceptional. We shadow in comparison. Cobbled streets in France are not normal, just like here, they would remain for traditional reasons only. I've driven many thousands of miles in France across a wide range of the country and I can't think of a single time that I have been anything but impressed. Where I was on holiday last year had single tracked roads for 15 km before you got to a proper road, not a single bump in them!

French cars have always had gentle rides.
