I'm just waiting on the dates for Spa (Renaultsport) then I'll build my trip to the 'Ring around that. We should have the date next week, its normally around late May early June.

Easter weekend will be murder at the ring. In my 8th year going now (I go bout 7 or 8 times a year) and Ive started to avoid the obvious times. Seeing closures and motorbike fatalities is becoming tedious.

ok so from your experience wots the best times, i went in jan in the snow last year, that was fun and aug but it was busy then, year b4 i went in april and that was ok but a biker came off and as i passed it didnt look good 4 him

Best time to go for weather is going to be post April. There is still regularly snow in April in Nurburg. May stands more chance of better weather. Avoid the long weekends as its now turned into chav-ville during these weeks. Nurburgring GBH have over the last few years given the tourists a couple of long weekends in the year, in the hope that it will keep them happy. After these weekends you will find little multiple opening days in their calendar. Therefore the best time to go is mid week when most tourists (UK being the biggest and to NBR GBH the biggest problem too) are at work.

From an entertainment point its worth going out midweek and tie-ing it in with an ADAC 4hour race (good opportunity to see how the really fast guys lap it).

Nowadays August is a no go.

I went last easter. glorious weather but very busy but that made it even more special for me. Still managed to do some great laps especially sunday afternoon.

I d be up for easter weekend but would like to stay until the monday or tuesday, however, in overall consensus is to go in may i d be cool with that.

Im there easter but only because im at Spa on good friday and it would be silly not to go the ring too. Agreed it will be packed to the point youll spend more time tyre kicking in the carpark.

The ring will definitely be very busy over these weekends.

13.05-16.05 the Thursday is a holiday, so some might take a long weekend
21.05-24.05 the Monday is a holiday
03.06-06.06 The Thursday is again a holiday

The first seems tempting to me but I d aim to get there the day before and stay the day after to get some quality time on the ring.

i was thinking we could go dover-dunkirque, its usually cheapest ferry and another 30 mile closer to ring which saves a bit of fuel

IMO yes, if only to get more familiar with your cars' capabilities.

But nothing will prepare you for the 'ring :bonkers:

I have done 2 previous sessions doing driving expereinces but Oulton Park just before Xmas was the first session on my own in my own car.

i went to the ring as my first eva track event, its hard times on there but fun, couple of fast sighting laps and it will slightly prepare u but u will not remember 1 bit of the track, its gud fun tho

Yeah my first track event was the Ring too, two years ago. i wouldnt worry about it just choose wisely when to go on track. sunday night has been the best time i have spent on track pretty much dead after the easter weekend.

Best thing you can do is get there early. I've been 4th or 5th car out and had two clear laps with no traffic at all.

A Manic busy lap is great fun though :D

im up 4 a trip! was lookin at the first week in sept! but when ever really just need 2 no so i can get time booked off as its no easy where i work!
