 RS250 with Cup Chasis and not a lot else Arnold Clarke in Warrington:cheers:
Arrived late Thursday night last week and finally got it out on the raod yesterday, basic trim, not a lot of goodies apart from the cup chasis in blue. No-IDrve or monitors etc.but with LSD.18" black 8.spokes scored Brembro's and 235 x 40x 18 pilots.

First impressions, very good to look at even though comments posted on here re all the lines from the arches were slightly disappointing, maybe in another colour wouldn't be as noticible. Basic trim inside but was practical and OK, quite unusual with the new dash layout but this is only as used to R26/225, great sterering wheel and plenty of driving positions(will suit most peeps) and sturdy.Solid doors as per previous models again familiarity with reverting back to single handbrake lever but hey we can't have everything. Only had 18 miles on clock and had been out for three tests before mine so all very stiff and viriginal. First thing to notice in normal ESP(traction control) mode (by the way no choice of switching off, either normal or sport mode) was how quiet it was with hardly any cabin noise apart from a faint rasp of the exhaust, very comfortable standard seats which even hugged my frame, very subtle delivery of power and a sense of being planted to the road. Handling was very receptive and precise. All in all a very enjoyable experience that was until I put in into sport mode........TBH a Wolf in sheeps clothing me thinks, the suspension tightened the handling was more precise and even seemed to hug the road knowing it was just about to be booted even with so little on the clock( made me chuckle as the stealer man looked decidely uncomfortable from that point on ) the significant difference I can advise is that when in Sport mode the exhaust /cabin noise increases significantly, but the drive, handling and delivery is fantastic, well done Renault !!!!! so am I getting one,( is the 275 happening ?? it maybe worth the wait but if just talk) there seems to be a 5-6 month lead time on normal 250's as sinse last weeks arrival they have taken 5 orders and earliest delivery is May, I reserve my judgement until March when they have a full fat and I mean full fat(all the toys) arriving in black with anthrocite kit, leather etc and 19" rims.

Hell yes I will be adding my name to the list:biggthumpup:

Nice write up and I think I want one.

I'm warming to the looks, but I won't be getting one soon as if I had the £20k to spend on a car i'd probably be getting a 335, but of course that'll be 3 years old..

My Meg will be going in the summer so i'll see what sort of deals are on then and what mileage i'm doing. I may consider one then....

Think I may have to go and have a look then.

Really fancy one, like you say though will wait a couple of months before commiting to it.

As I replied it's not to everyone's liking as such a difference from the 225 and R series, but deffo warming to it and is/has the potential to be an absolute fantastic car really subtle and smooth delivery without loosing the fun!!!!

I was in Warrington with the girlfriend on Saturday, and we popped into Renault for a random look around.

Saw the 250 you're on about, mate. Looked really nice.

Made me wonder who employs the sales staff, though. This one guy must have explained to me about 3 times that it had discs on all 4 corners. Blimey, mate, even my Saxo runabout has that. LOL.

I told him I had an R26.R and he didn't even know what it was. HAHA.

LOL I know what you mean, they certainly have several nueby numpties!!! But Lee or Jamie know what they're on about. They are also awaiting to fnd out if these two mentioned have passed the RUK RS accreditation so the stealers become a RS specialist in North West.
