hello everyone, i've got a golf gti edition 30 and am wanting to change after 3 years, its got a bluefin remap and is the best car i've ever owned. i;m looking to get a megane rs250 soon. i'm not really looking at doing any track days in it, so wont be getting the cup chassis, am i right in thinking it's not really needed just for road use? also, does anyone know if there are any demo cars in the dartford, orpington or surrounding areas to take a look at? can anyone reccomend a good dealer in the area? i look forward to hearing from you all.

Hi Martin, welcome to the site. You have definetly signed onto the best place if your looking for a 250. You'll save yourself a few grand as well if you go to the right dealer !!

hi mate, definatly the right place for peoples opinions and advice about the meganes, I am sure you will get pointed in the right direction for a good service, the right price and plenty of help.
MAybe you should go and test drive one for yourself to, see what the real thing is like. I ordered mine without driving one then drove one after and was so pleased i made the plunge!

i was thinking of either a focus rs or a well specced mk6 golf gti, untill i read all the reviews on the megane, plus its the best looking of the new breed of hot hatches. anyone know of a good dealer in this area of kent with a demo?

Ive driven the cup and non cup. If your not tracking it, then the non cup is very good !

Speak to andy@wests. He is based in Bedford and has one. Well worth the drive to see him !! Someone from Aberdeen bought one from him !!

Yes.

The build quality seems good and on a par with the Golf although some of the materials are of a lower quality feel. Generally though it knocks spots of anything else I've seen from Renault.

The 250 is more precise and urgent than my Ed 30 and that was on demo with 100 miles on it!!

Hi i am near you in essex, i not going to tell you who to buy from as most people on here recommend andy @ wests who sounds like a great guy, but i bought mine from lookers in chelmsford and got a great deal, infact im picking mine up on the 25th march so not long now !! they have a grey sport with the 19,s on it and renault monitor with standard leather interior and upgraded stereo which you can look at in the showroom and a black cup with black 18,s
on that you can book a test drive, if your interested you can ring kevin, who im sure will be happy to help you .

i think the focus is a non runner for me, my wife thinks she would look like a chav in it. i dont doubt its a great car with strong residuals but i think i'll go with something a bit less shouty:yes:

:funnysh1t: only kidding mate but after owning a mk2 frs it was a great car but the handling just lets it down for me, got rid and new 250 on route :D

i'm going to crawley renaultsport dealer 2mrw to try and get a good deal on a 250 with a few options, what sort of discount would be reasonable? i will probably go for renault selections so am not expecting too much off the list price, just wondered what other have managed so i have some ammo when i go in there. thanks again.

I got over £3k discount on selections.

£4.5k on Selections on mine
