Hey folks,
With the amount of street racing (make all the jokes about 'private' roads you want, but thats what you're doing) posts lately I thought I'd mention this company that does airfield 'training days' near Harlow in Essex.
I went a few weeks back and it was really good. Apart from having alotta fun it was also an eye opener to see what happens when you do go past the limits of the car and yourself in a wide open controlled environment. I'd highly recommend it, especially to novices such as myself.

Apologies for the link, but it saves me writing or copying and pasting the decsription in this post

Thanks for that link. I live about 5 mins away from there & didn't know they did driver training there, I'll start dropping hints to everyone I know now about what a good birthday gift this would be :)

THat is exactly what I was looking for.

Im not a good fast driver. I get mini-panic attacks mid bends over 60mph if the bend changes radius and that sort of thing... I signed up (and paid) the Advanced Driver Institute and it ended being a nice bunch of sweet OAPs teaching you to be over-prudent, over-cautious and over-everything. And all I wanted to know is understanding my car behavious at its limit of adhesion (which might well be 50mph in a wet round about!) and also to be able to have the coolnes and the knowledge to get it straight when the the brake lights start overtaking me...

I think they are a good idea. I thought I was a good driver till I got in the VX and realised I didnt know jack S**t. I'm after doing a skidpan day in mine to get to grips with the RWD
