: My 197...Now with new pics
Finally picked it up today and 3pm. After a short drive decided to give it its first detail to get rid of the fallout when it was sitting at the docks. That took much longer than I anticipated (around 1hr longer) just cos it had so much stuck on.
Only 3 minor faults so far; front bumper not aligned properly and scratched centre console. Also Renault seems to have been cost cutting with the paint and I can see through the paint on parts of the front bumper. :o
shinyautos.com 01-09-2006, 23:50:16 Bloody hell mate! :o
Apart from that you liking it?
I'll be down in about 3 weeks to sort the bits out.
It was fun on the way home. :D Won't be able to drive it for the next couple of days as it has no petrol. :( Would fill it up but I seemed to have misplaced my wallet somewhere.
shinyautos.com 02-09-2006, 00:32:34 blimmin eck!
To add to it my card got swallowed in a cash machine, just before my holiday.
Can't get another till after i've gone.
All due to a faulty machine apparently!
cactusbob 02-09-2006, 01:08:33 First of all, nice one Ado, where are the pics?
Adam - Good job it;s cheap in Kenya
andy bassett 02-09-2006, 09:00:16 ADO get some nice black F1 18s on there.( would look mental ) there the same offset as the megane :? , this will cause some probs wen peeps start trying to mod them.
apart from that the same old faults from rens,
glad you like it, and check under the cushions not just down the side of them
Pics of when it was at the dealer is here.

Haven't had a chance to take anymore yet and its raining now. :(
Would like to put F1 18"s on but haven't got enough money now. Think in the future I may spray the 17"s black instead.
Adam the exhaust should be done then by the time you come this way. :D Hopefully nicely run in as well.
shinyautos.com 02-09-2006, 12:10:05 What exhaust you putting on it mate?
And Geriant, bloody cheap? I've got to pay to get in and out of the country, now come on why would i want to stay?
Its going in on the week of 18th to Milltek for them to develope one. Hope it has a sports cat. :D
Put in shiny's LEDs in there today. Looks the nuts and was a first easy mod. Defo recommended for anyone interested.
Also was just wondering does the Xenons raise up when you use the full beam on the Meganes? Also loving the conering lights and everything else. :D :D
shinyautos.com 02-09-2006, 22:43:58 Cheers mate,
The main beam are not xenon so only come on and stay still, the xenon's auto level though.
I was taking it for a blast tonight and just love it when the xenon aims higher when the full beam is on. Still haven't passed the 5k rpm mark yet but i'm sure it'll be soon.
Fuel consumption is also on the rise from 15mpg to mid 20s now. :D
shinyautos.com 02-09-2006, 23:02:55 My mpg was 4.2 when i got the megane!
My mpg was 4.2 when i got the megane!
Well i'm sticking closer to the Renault running-in recommendation than you.
shinyautos.com 02-09-2006, 23:09:00 Once its warm let it know who's boss!
I'm sure it will see 7.5k soon enough. :D Need to fill it up first tho so I don't have too much fun and run out of fuel.
While cleaning it yesterday I noticed that my front wing seem to have a blister on the top coat that wasn't there before. Also there seems to have been alot of crap stuck on the rear quarter panel when they sprayed it.
Another thing is why when they put the locking wheel nuts on they have to scratch the wheels aswell?
Going to speak to the salesman tomorrow to see what he says.
Some pics from today.
