Racing after the safety car went in was stupid - the officials clearly meant the race to end under the safety car. However, I'm sure there were green lights at Rascasse, suggesting the race was back on and overtaking was OK after the safety car line.

Schumacher and Brawn are testing the rules. In my opinion, Schumacher shouldn't have overtaken, but the officials messed up as well, so the sensible solution is for him to be classified 7th.

the irony that Hill was the driver to give his input on it as well

no surprise, old news, schumacher knew what he was doing, he's a chancer, Alonso was told to hold station regardless of what happened.

right decision on unright rules so too speak

I actually think that Mercedes will win their appeal.
In my opinion (and all the BBC presenters too) it was a legit move. If they lose it i think its harsh tbh.

Think this is a classic case of the difference between following the rules and the spirit of the rules (or the officials' intentions).

It may have been a technically legit move, but Mercedes are pushing their luck, and they know it!

F1's about pushing the rules to the limit and that's fine, and when there's a flaw in the rules or their interpretation they need to just be sensible. That's why Schumacher should be classified 7th.

Oh, and if only Alonso had actually held station instead of failing to control his car on the last corner!

It's all over. Mercedes has decided not to appeal after all.

its funny, they actually joked about hill getting a chance to penalise schumacher at the beginning of the coverage! Mmm makes you wonder whether this is a bit of a snipe by hill.

Shame, I thought it was all fair and square, in my eyes

Agree with Arun, it's a tough one but everyone else raced for the line, there were green flags etc.
