hi, folowing on from THIS (http://meganesport.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4197) thread about me looking for a DCi 130 im looking for some pics and info!

firstly any reliability issues i should be aware of? common problems etc?

2nd, suspension :) whats it like standard, is it ok just to uprate the springs or are the shocks similar quality to the clio and need to be replaced? also what about coilovers any cheap but good sets out there for the megane? and how does the car handle when the suspensions been changed? (hoping i wont be dissapointed after my apex'd clio)

3rd, chips/remaps/tuning boxes. whats out there and whats considered the best? what sort of power can be had just from one of them on the dci 130 engine, without any other mods (apart from a panel filter) what sort of power can be had with other mods, is there much out there for the DCi's in the way of tuning?

and lastly, let me see all your dci dynamiques to see what can be done :)

sorry for all the questions, but just dont want to spend a lot of money on one and not be happy (ive still to test drive one tho!)

Firstly, I don't think there's anyone on the forum with the 130 1.9. Quite a few of us have the 120.

ok so, common problems - everyone seems to moan about rattling, but I haven't noticed this on mine. Sometimes there's early injector faults, but should all be sorted out under warrenty, especially with the latest 130 models.

Suspension - Ask Jimbo (http://meganesport.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=116&sid=8c412da4f912de5d8d37d2990f6c2660), he put some 35mm springs on his 120, think he was pretty impressed with the handling. Ive got some on order at the min. Coilovers, H&R do them, from ktec they are about £800 something!
Obviously with just changing the springs, the shocks will get damaged over time, but on a newer car it shouldnt be such an issue.

Remaps - Paul (http://meganesport.net/forum/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=16), at RSTuning does alot of remapping. Typical figures for the 120 are around 15-25bhp increase, (Sorry, not so keyed up on the 130), Torque figures are also pretty good. I've got a Vanaaken Smart box (http://www.vanaaken.com/Dieseltuningbox-smartbox.htm), which seems alright, a plug a play box, so can take it off pretty easily if I need to.

Sorry I havent really filled you in too much about the 130, I'm sure someone will have some more info.

i saw one in real life and was sure they looked massive, like 17" but on the renault website the only optional extra wheels i can find are 16" ones

quite fancy a black 3 door with they wheels, lowered slightly, remap and leave it at that, fed up with declairing loads and loads of mods and scared incase ive missed some, so the clio will be getting rebuilt over winter and insured as a kit car i think!

anyone else got any pics or info that i might find usefull?

I have a dci 130. Owned it since August last year (new car). Done almost 18k in it and so far it's great.
Mine is a 3 door in black with the 17's on it, sunroof, climate, cruise, xenons, almost every optional extra except leather & **** nav.
Mine isn't modified in any way apart from removing the MEGANE badge off the boot lid.
With regards to the suspension, even with the 17's on it is still very comfortable, it also depends on what you are used to. My previous car, a 2001 Seat Ibiza Cupra, was a much harder, and less comfortable ride. Although the megane handles know where near as good.

19" nerver sport alloys with a 60mm drop.

looks awesome, bloody good photoshop to.

with regards to the suspension/springs. as said, i had a 35mm drop on cobra springs. i was very impressed by the way the car held the road and the ride was also forgiving. the only niggle i had with the cobra springs is that they didnt sit in the spring seats properly in the front so occasionally making a knocking noise when turning at low speeds.

i'd be tempted to go for some eibach sportlines.

yeah had them sprayed up at the dealership (darlingtons, Harlow) before I picked up the car. IMO makes such a difference.

nice motor mate, I've the 120 dci and (hopefully) gonna get her chipped next month! (PLEASE GOD I NEED SOME POWER!!!). :lol:
