: Kia Ora from NZ

Just purchased an F1, finally a car more worthy than my old Pug GTi-6 for punting around rural New Zealand's twisty and poorly surfaced roads... although that torque steer has already given me a few adrenalin-pumping moments!

Kia Ora Naki, nice to meet you. Are you on the North or South Island. My family and I are emigrating over to the south island in Oct 2008, we are gonna live near Christchurch, probably the Roleston or Ashburton area, and yes I am bringing my Megane with us.
Welcome aboard m8, I can feel lots of conversations going on here.
Cheers Phill J

Thanks very much for the welcome!

To answer a few q's -

Kia Ora is the greeting of the Maori people, native to NZ (surprised they haven't sued the orange juice company...)

You hardly see any Megane's in NZ (I'm talking all models, let alone a 225...), maybe 1 a day in the city (Auckland), absolutely none in Taranaki (province around New Plymouth, for those with a good atlas) where I am from - nearest dealer is 2+ hours drive away. I have only seen one other 225 on the road EVER, and the F1 was the first 3dr imported to NZ.
The problem is that 225's are only $NZ10000 (3500GBP?) cheaper than new Evo's and WRX STI's, let alone the Jap imports we get for half that - hence those vehicles are way more popular (probably see a dozen+ of each every day, fully kitted out etc). So the F1 certainly gets a lot of looks, no-one has a clue what it is.

Phill J - afraid I'm in the North Island, but NZ is pretty much one big community so all good. Some great roads in the central canterbury/otago area...

Thanks again to all, have a good one
