lol, well, the corsa-c forum boys held there national meet in derby... and the suzuki ignis sport boys hold theres at j24 of the M1... which are supposedly pretty much central... so discuss... :D

just find a nice big restaraunt some where around in the middle and sort a meet there for the day,

make it say a 1pm meet at a services or big shopping carpark and then convoy to the restaraunt for say 4pm for dinner.

so if you live at half way house say silverstone area then get looking and let us know.

There is a big Sainsburys and a good Chinese all you can eat buffet in Stafford. That is failry central 2 hours from London 2 hours from Leeds....

If you're talking Midlands, I really ought to come.. Based in Derby myself. Will need clearance from the wife though. She thinks having 'internet friends' is a bit sad, to actually meet some comes across as freaky....

However, Toby cavery is a top shout. There is one in Derby, one in Notts, loads of hotels in Notts, a couple in Derby, I'm on hand to do some reccies if need be? Think a date might need to be fixed up too, a bit after new year? Before christmas and the bit between is usually rammo with meeting friends and family? Like a week after new year or something? Gove us 'something to look forward to' :lol:

anytime is good for me... i also live in notts... so the reccies seem a good idea, but all the major roads near me are pretty easy anyway... A38 and M1...

Lets not forget the A52 as well, a good high speed run road (saw 135 on the clocks of a 306 I once owned..). Then there is the A514 (I think), Rainsway area near Derby, some good roads round there too (down to J23 of the M1).

Derby itself has a large area to park in Pride Park, and theres also a couple of food places there like Old Orleans etc.

like i said, the corsa-c national meet was at derby... near erm... erm... pizza hut, and the cinema and the bowling alley... not sure what the car park is called, but the astra gsi national meet was also there...

That place is a bit rubbish, there are speed bumps everywhere! There is a McD's, but there's one of them in the Wyvern next door to Pride Park.

Still like the Toby Carvey idea too...

Hang on - I was thinking of the wrong place.. That's more south... Not sure how good that place is!

there is a mcdonalds on the other side of the roundabout... and yes, the carvery sounds ace :)

OK, how about the following as an itinerary:

Meet around lunchtime at the toby carvery in Notts.
Leave there, take the A52 to the M1
M1 to J23a (I think it is)
Back up the A roads to Derby - these roads are full of high speed dual carridgeways, long sweeping corners with the occasional roundabout
Arrive at Pride Park in Derby, plenty of straight roads and roundabouts in the Park, and a cheap-ish (but very new) hotel called the Sleep Inn (and a kfc, pizza hut, BK and a costco!).
Then, those that want to can jump in a cab (no more than £5 there) and head to town for a few beers. Others can make their way home.

Not a big driving day, more a meet and greet. Then in the summer maybe we can head out to Wales and see some proper roads....

My biggest worry is setting a loose itinerary and location up front so people can plan it in, especially at that time of year. Otherwise there will be loads of people up for it, then when we get closer to the time and the venue/date get decided, people will pull out. Then it'll just end up with 2 225's in a car park.. Hardly a big meet :lol:

im sure if we make it at the start of dec it will be fine,

it will give enough notice time wise for those to get the time off

it not got to be something special, just big enough for us all to meet and dine.

plus ill have the baby by then so its not got to be nothing to plush,

just like a beaf eater or soink along them lines
