Out of curiosity. If I ought to drop my car by lets say 20mm, change the gear box into something with a taller ration and remap the engine, do you think it would lead to better fuel economy?

Lowering it wont make any difference at all to fuel consumption

Lowering it won't help anything but looks, a taller ratio would but I bet that would be costly. I wouldn't worry too much as my cc struggles to get 30s round town.

I was thinking about the new clio eco gearbox.... wondered if it would fit in a megane.

It would but I'm sure it would be very complicated. When you get an engine swap you normally have to get a matching gearbox.

The amount it would cost to actually do i would have thought would far outweight the saving in fuel economy.

Surely the lump out of a RenaultSport Megane dCi 175 would be the way forward??
