they just phoned and said thats not a good sign :? , they had another one do it a month or to back and could not fix the prob even with a new ecu, was like the car had a virus she said, had to get some bod out to look at it and sort it from tech support is it.
was in for 2 weeks being tested on and stuff,

oh well lets hope all can be sorted.

I am 100% sure if they put a new ECU on it will fix it.

I think they are all late 2005 onwards.

You should be able to tell depending on how your ignition test mode comes on.

Old style = In gear , Foot on brake (NOT on clutch) , Press start.

New style = Both doors open , out of gear , press start for 10 seconds.

I think this is correct

Correct we think anyway! Possibly a few exceptions knowing Renno.

It was WAAAAAAAAAAAY before that.....was more like early last year.
I think it was shortly after there was a major fault with the engine manafold catching fire. There was a tech fix for that and i seem to recall it was around then.

i ordered mine in aug of last year and i was told shortly after that it was going to be the new engine, as my dealer rang me up when they heard about the changes.

Mine was on the road on Jan 10th so it should be the Euro 4 engine. :D :D

i was told they brought the euro4 changes out in July cos if i had ordered mine in june i would have got a non euro4 one but ordered it a week later in july so got a euro4 one.

easy way to tell is pust the star button in for around 5-10 secs and your ignition will come on, if it dont then its not a euro 4.

Alex

also your service interval...

18K = pre euro4
12k = Euro4

What difference does it make, exactly?

(Mine's a September build, so I guess it's a 4?)

Basically Euro4 emmission conformity came in at teh end of last year. TO come inline with that the Meganes ECU was changed and the numbers in the ECU are different to those that are not Euro4 complient.

Paul had an issue running the remap on a Euro4 engine hence his poll.

Not quite true as mine is NOT euro 4 and has a 12k Service schedule.

true .....I beleive there was a point in time (middle of last year) where all cars were put into line for Euro4 with their servicing whether they had a euro4 ecu or not.
