Bit confusing this one, it is keyless entry (as in you have a card rather than a key) but it is not handsfree (you have to press a button to open the boot/doors and put the card in the slot to start her up).

Unless it is something you are used to it won't really matter that much, I chose not to go for the R26 for this reason, and a few others. As the handsfree system is one thing I have grown to love about the meg 225.

Yup i agree with mike, if you've never had the fully keyless card before, it will still seem awsome to you mate, but i think now i'd feel like i've had me leg chopped off, its just brilliant having your hands totally free to open lock start everything with the key card just in your pocket.

Brilliant invention! :D

Yep - I've got a cup. I have to press the button to get in, insert the card to start and press the button (twice) to lock/deadlock the car. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, and you can take the card out and the engine stays running.

If I had the fully handsfree first I'd prob miss it, but now I just love the card as it's better than a key!

Exactly mate, they both are a great bit of kit, so whichever you've got you'll be happy! :D

What about if you put your wallet in your back pocket and sit on it?

I never do that, always in my front pocket.

I know I'd crush it, it's probably for the best I have to push the button :D

Basically, the card is just a different shaped key to what your used to!
Most cars nowadays have 'keyless entry', remote locking/unlocking is keyless and you either stick your key in and turn, or your card shaped key and press a button.

true but there aint many cars that have proximity sensors that open the car like the megane,

yes its keyless but that would include all the meganes then, not all have the just walk up to the car and open it function..

but i would not miss that if i sell mine and get a R26 say, i have to do it on my astr and my van so its not a great loss to me,

The biggest problem on renaults is the handsfree locking. Its really unreliable.

JayRB

thanks for clearing that up. i do like the handsfree entry ive used it on a megane cc and its great, you would of thought it would be on the rb230.

Yep - but I have not had to slot a key in the dash before, never had a flat key, or push button start. I thought I'd think 'why not just use a key' but I love it more than a key!

Couldnt do without the keyless start, damn useful not having it on the keyring, when you wanna get out and unlock the garage.

I have thought about that but the damn builders didnt put power into the garage and I havent sorted it yet. Anyone know any electricians?

Sorry mate i'm a sparkie not a ground worker.

Too much like hard work all that digging.

That's alright I've got monkeys lined up for digging duties. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find a sparkie in MK to do the job.

We do a lot of work in MK, most of it in the NHBC head office.

First refurb was in knowlhill, then we refurbed the new offices in Davy Ave.

Always found it hard getting local sparks, most of us commute!!!

Neither have the hands free opening and engine start. The Megane Renault sport 230 F1 team R26 does'nt have a key, it has a big lump of plastic you stick in the dash then prod the start button.

Which are you buying?????
