OK, er indoors needs some new tyres on her 15" Clio rims. Currently they are 185/55 R15s. Now these aren't a particularly popular size so they arent that cheap. Anyone see any problems with sticking 195/50 R15s on?

Try this thread:

Tyre code Diameter Circumference Difference
195/50 R15 576 mm 1810 mm -1.45 %
205/50 R15 586 mm 1841 mm 0.26 %

For 195/50/15 - Speedo reads 70mph your actual speed will be 68.99mph

195/50/15 are dirt cheap and everyone makes them.

Speedo isnt very accurate anyway I'd expect. Yeah the 195/50/15 are dirt cheap thats what I was thinking.

No probs with the wider tyre on the Clio rim?

No. I was looking at a 205 GTi which ran 185/55/15 as standard and lots of owners stick 195/50/15 on for the exact reason you gave i.e. lack of choice and high price.

I found some Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD3 for thirtyfive notes each. I think they'll do :)
