The acoustic windscreen has some sound deadening between the layers of laminate. A lot of the old shape Clio had these, dunno if it makes any difference

I didnt think a Megane would weigh 70kgs more than a Laguna!!

Id hoped the Megane would be a little lighter...so would gain a bit on performance!!

Still its very tempting

Not the cheapest car to buy or run then, dci 175 Lux Sport Hatch £20,330 with servicing every 9,000 miles. You start adding Recaro's and Xenons and you are looking at close on £22k. Let's hope the likes of buymynewcar can offer it at a decent price as Renault will struggle to shift a £20k + diesel Megane no matter how good it is !! Probably a decent company car choice however with low CO2 and you dont give a hoot about the depreciation :-)

i'm quite disappointed with these details. The GT DCi is almost the same specs, appart from styling, not really think I'm going to be interested. Sorry Renault, should've tried harder, for that price too!!! I'd be tempted to go german.

im also diaspointed as using the 225`s kit to sell diesels spoils our exclusive look on the roads and we all coul be driving 1.9d`s.

i dont think that using the kit is a bad thing... if it's a renault sport then why not? the gt has no where near as much presence as the renault sport model has... at the end of the day the renault sport dci is still a 20k car plus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like for like the RS Dci has to weigh more than the R26 (1345) due to that heavy lump over the front wheels although 1470 (3dr) does seem a bit high, maybe 1370 ?

What am I on about! I must have been in something when I wrote that! LOL
I had to take my car back in to get the wheels redone (3rd time) as the garage have sprayed them with body paint and they keep scratching and have runs in them (think a refund is due!)
Whilst it was in i borrowed a 207. Think it was a 1.1 or something asmatic cos it was sooooooooooooooo slow. When I got my Meg back, it was like "fook me this is quick" I do love her, but she's getting old now. Hope to trade to a younger model sometime this year. Will have to be black again :)

Oh yeah on topic.....RenaultSport DCI = Too much moola. Imagine the residual after 3/4 years if on a 4year 0% APR (if it'll be available on this)!!

Na! I'm going to stick with my GTDCI, it's lighter [?] comfy, cheeper [got mine for 15.25K] 9mpg better on fuel, and I can always get it chipped if I feel the need for a it more ooomph

Hi celticking, hope you enjoy your GT. Can you let me know if you have a large plume of blue smoke on Cold startup? Both ours have this issue which seems to be due to overfueling. Not burning oil.. I am trying to get Renault Technical to view my car at the mo and would be greatfull to find out if they all do it.

Love my GT mate, only day one and i think its the BIZ, will check on next cold startup, may be your batch that has the prob. Will let you know

Ah, OK thanks for your update, hope to get something sorted with renault, but I spose the more people who complain the sooner they will investigate and fix this issue...... Just had the Air Bag warning light come up now

Boysie, have you been moving your seat much? This can be sometimes the cause for the airbag light, as the connection under the seat is crap.

Cheers for your update. I did know about the wiring under the seat thing as my clio did it also..

Going to take it back to the dealers tomorrow though,,, as I have other issues and want them to be aware I'm not happy

ha lol, you tell them. Its a common fault as you know on the old renaults with the airbags.

High, problems with my car are exessive smoke on cold starup, this morning was -1, so lots of smoke,,, it also has two diferent noises from the drivers door, one is due to a loose door handle that rattles when going round a corner, and a sort of squeeky noise from the door rubber when the car flexes, ie going over bumps.
Mr Boysie's car has the same smoke issues, and the air bag light remains on,,, it went in to have this fixed on saturday, and it seems it's not the normal loose connection under the seet, and they now want the car for two days to investigate? This rings alarm bells, and I have visions of them removing the cars interior, seats, dash ect..

I feel like asking for my money back, very disapointed!!

thats right.. the DCI 175 will be a DCI 172 CUP, LUX, F1, DCI 200 etc.. DCI mite even get better colours DOH !

Recieved a call from renault HQ. It seems someone from renault tech support is going to travel down to my dealer to view both our cars [smoke issue] on the 29th, and Mrs Boysie's car has had the airbag light error fixed,,, it needed a software update/ reset?
