Got the Clio RT beast back from the bodyshop yesterday.

This was the rust

the guy advised that he could sand it back, fibre glass it but it would eventually come back. So instead they chopped it out and welded a plate in instead.

Here's how she's looking at the moment, I'm actually rather pleased as for a £600 car, with a few hundred thrown at it, its turned out nice.

They've done a good job there

not a bad little investment for a 'runner' / '****ter'..... better than the 5 was i reckon!

Its better in some ways and not so good in others.

Its got central locking, power steering, electric windows, sunrood etc which the Renault 5 didn't have.

But the Renault 5 was pretty much mint condition. The outside was almost perfect. And I'd say it was actually a bit quicker than this Clio. Also it was 2 years younger, rarer and had more character.

But I always said I'd have another Mk1 Clio after my first car and now I've got one which I'm slowly getting up to my standard of clean!!! lol

I know mate!! At least another 10bhp. Especially if you drive around with the side lights and fogs on, on a completely clear day. That always makes it quicker. lol

Sad thing was, I forgot I'd been playing around with the fogs and drove it about 5 miles, side lights on and the b*stard fogs were on too!!! Must have looked a right r'tard!!

im seriously considering gettin me self sommit soon like, talkin to a mate the other day with an old 1.5 d corsa, het got to leeds and back, then to work all week on 20 quid, just for comparison it probs cost me 25-30 quid just to get to leeds

Seriously though, compared to the Megane it is a sh!tter. But £600 buys you a suprising amount of car. Even if I hadn't put any money into making it better, it is still a good car for the cash, the seats are really comfy too. :D :

sell the meggy then and keep ya clio ;) :p haha!!! seems to have more toys than the meggy anyway!!! :D

Not much really beats the toys in a 225!! :D No self tinting rear view in this car. haha
