: 225 and towbar
I have a problem... I was just informed by local delaer that it's not possible to get a towbar to Megane Sport 225. The problem is that I really need it.
So, is my delaer correct that it's impossible to attach towbar to this sport model or is there a solution?

I rekon your dealer is correct, but they aren't the best people to speak to about tow bars...
Have a look on the internet for a independant tow bar fitting company , and see what they say
A
OK. So in theory it might be possible, anyone fitted one?
Yes, I know that people who usually buy these "sport" models do not care about towbars. But I would really like to get it and the gating item is towbar (how sad).
RS-Tuning 21-02-2006, 15:16:19 I'd say not mate as the boot floor is plastic!

MattRS225 21-02-2006, 16:07:09 I can't beleive your even considering fitting a towbar to a 225 surely there is a law about this kind of thing
Jon Seal 21-02-2006, 16:57:15 I rekon if you go to a tobar specialist they will be able to do one for you
the fastest caravan in history it would be if ya did get one.
shinyautos.com 21-02-2006, 17:30:45 BLIMEY
I reckon if you went to a welders they could make you a custom one so it can be detached and not visible when its off..
mike_d225 21-02-2006, 17:50:31 Exaust is probably a problem to
Alright, seems that there is still some hope (two recons that it might be possible) that I can swap my old trusty Clio-02 1.6 with removable towbar.
ps. I have trailer not caravan. And I use it to keep my garden clean and to fetch christmastree once in a year :)
ps1. I really like my current Clio, but I need a bit bigger car...

Even the very thought of it makes you question your sanity
megane225 24-02-2006, 07:17:59 The car would look so stupid with a towbar on its a sports car not a work horse.

each to their own i say + its got great low down torque and a strong box so it fines for pulling, even got good traction. only thing is you owuld have ot fit those extremley gay long wing mirrors
Morgs 24-02-2006, 09:24:50 Correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure there is a section in the 225 brochure about the T bar. So logic would disctate that you can get one.
Ironically, you can have a tow bar fitted to a Mini Cooper S which has a similar exhaust issue. It detaches and is virtually unnoticable when not fitted.

Topper225 06-07-2006, 21:50:20 What is the max (Tonnage) the 225 can tow ...
Baz225 06-07-2006, 22:15:41 1000 Kg Braked
650 Kg Un-Braked
ThatÂ’s fine for me as I only pull my bike trailer or my Kart trailer but it would be no good for pulling a caravan
cactusbob 07-07-2006, 08:43:34 it would be no good for pulling a caravan
That's a relief
If I ever saw a 225 pulling a caravan, I think I would cry
