: Not sure on what colour to get on a R26?
denty 01-04-2007, 14:25:03 Personally I didn't think Id like liquid yellow. The pictures just don't give it any justice. Picked mine up friday and what can I say its a must to anybody who is debating getting Liquid yellow. When the sun shines on it she just looks beautiful. Also anyone who doesn't get the decals I think made a big mistake cause I think they look awsome. Anyway thats my opinion but I still love all the other colours and there pictures so thanks to everyone who's posted pictures and enjoy u car.
redR26 01-04-2007, 16:03:06 Agree with the decal bit.
Robbo182 01-04-2007, 20:05:56 I was at brands hatch today, and finally got to see one in the flesh, liquid with decals on dealer stand, and have to say it did look superb. I even got to sit in it, and yes a sex wee ensued....
I still wouldnt get yellow tho, its £1200 extra, which frankly is silly. Also, it will attract a lot of attention.
The decals surprised me, i really liked them, they're actually quite thick and raised when you feel them, so I suspect they will come off easily enough.
I'll still be going for blue or red, but really need to see a blue in the flesh with decals before deciding which route to go!
God i love the car tho!
Seen them at brands today aswell. Looked quite good.
I wonder when is the R26's at Brands coming up for sale.
BlackRat250 01-04-2007, 20:54:42 I have to agree denty.
minnnt 02-04-2007, 09:17:48 must say i love the yellow, but as mentioned, it's 1200quid, which seems silly, but, it looks fantastic! i like all the colours though, but i reckon i like the blue and red best. although when i see vitto's in mercury it is absolutely amazing! still think they should have come with black wheels though rather than anthracite, they don't stand out unless you have the yellow and/or decals.
denty 02-04-2007, 09:54:08 £1200 for liquid yellow but if u do want this colour u can get it free anyway they just put that price on for those who don't haggle.
DevilDamo 02-04-2007, 09:59:27 I test drove a black 225 Cup on Saturday. One of the Renault guys had just bought a liquid yellow R26 with the side de-cals only and oh my god... it looked stunning!
The choice/decision I have to make is either a black 225 Cup or a liquid yellow R26 and 99% of me is going down the R26 route :)
Matty 02-04-2007, 10:15:05 I think the R26 should only come in one clolour like the Trophey and F1, and that shoule be the yellow.
DevilDamo 02-04-2007, 10:17:33 That's my view on it. Why get an R26 in any other colour because you might as well get a 225 Cup :) But... that's only my opinion :) And... if people think why am I going to pay an extra £1,200 for the liquid yellow paint, then what's £1,200 as a proportion of the price for the car. Minor (to be honest).
By the way... what do people think about having the door handles colour coded (i.e. to match the wheels and wing mirrors)? :)
minnnt 02-04-2007, 10:20:48 yeah but a liquid yellow r26 wont be worth 1200quid more in the future!!
DevilDamo 02-04-2007, 10:21:28 No it wont BUT... some people are having it included for FREE :)

it would help if the wheels and the mirrors matched to start with. :) but yeah that could look good, and make it stand out from all the others.
DevilDamo 02-04-2007, 10:24:04 They do don't they? Or near enough?
minnnt 02-04-2007, 18:34:10 they are supposed to match, but they don't. a few members have had theirs resprayed to a better match for the wheels. andy bassett has, im sure he would show you a picture of before and after shots. :)
toonboy616 05-04-2007, 11:18:14 nobody gets liquid yellow for free, im sure a dealer will tell you you are getting it for free but in reality will just be reducing the car cost as part of the haggle. when you get the dealers down to friends and family prices there will NOT be liquid yellow for free as apparently renault HQ never discount that option ;)

Thats what u think. They put that price on so people with money to burn end up paying £22000+ for there car. They still have to spray the car a colour and liquid yellow paint isn't that expensive.
minnnt 05-04-2007, 17:05:13 is metallic paint really 300odd quid more expensive than flat?
toonboy616 08-04-2007, 01:14:47 Thats what u think. They put that price on so people with money to burn end up paying £22000+ for there car. They still have to spray the car a colour and liquid yellow paint isn't that expensive.
yeah but you dont understand what im saying, however they price the quote it will cost the dealership 1200 for the paint, any discounting will actualy be done on the price of the car. go to a dealership and get them down to rock bottom prices on a r26, i.e. about 14800 or 15000 and then ask them to throw in liquid yellow paint for free also. it wont happen mate because it does cost the dealership extra. you may get them down to 16000 with liquid and 14800 for a normal paint. so either way you are paying extra for the liquid yellow paint whatever they say to you. If you are negotiating at higher prices and they say they will do liquid yellow for free they are effectively adjusting the price of the car and not the paint. ;)
toonboy616 08-04-2007, 01:15:53 i will also add, if you do get them down to those prices you have effectively got a freinds and family deal and done very well, you probrably wont get such a good discount though
denty 08-04-2007, 12:29:22 don't agree with u there mate. List price is £19750. People who get them for £15000 go through brokers mate so its different. They end up paying just as much as those who get them from Renault direct who get the discount. Car has to be painted a colour so whats the difference between black and liquid yellow. The paint might cost the garage an extra £100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
toonboy616 08-04-2007, 13:13:23 but renault hq refuse to discount the liquid yellow, it has to be paid for because its to keep its value and not **** of previous customers who have paid out the money for liquid yellow. I have negotiated through pcp brokers and all the figures work out as i explained. Dealers can discount the car but the can not discount the liquid yellow paint. It will be paid for in full somewhere in the price of the car. try getting a dealer down to bear minimum price on the r26 and then pipe up that actualy you want it in liquid yellow, they will add 1200 on and flatly refuse to go any lower at all because you know what, they really cant go any lower, renault hq will want that extra 1200 paid in full with no discounts as there are no discounts available on liquid yellow, hope that clears things up;)
