: That new Civic (interior)

I just had a good look inside a new shape Civic, as my grandad has just bought one a 1.8 auto version.

I've never been a fan of the outside, thought it just looked over fussy by comparison to the old shape. Not keen on all the crystal style strips and the triangle exhausts.

BUT, always thought the interior looked kinda cool and thought that might be its redeeming feature.

BUT (again), after sitting in one its actually not all that. Nicely built but all the displays are screens and dials but all in different tiers and behind curved plastic. Sounds like it could be cool but as soon as there's a bit of sun you can't see it!!!!!

Also just like the outside, its over fussy. Probably not got any more features than the 225s have inside but completely over the top in how its displayed.

Tell you one thing though, I thought the new CTR would be another interesting rival for the Meg but having been in a new Civic, gimme the inside of a Meg 225 any day. :D

I massively prefer the interior of the new CTR to the megs, think it looks really nice and upmarket. The 225 interior just seems the same to me as my old megane coupes, although I think the build quality has got worse. Everything does what its supposed to though. Tell ya an interior I think is awesome though, the new Merc S Class, that interior is stunning, especially with the fibre optic mood lighting along the dash, screams quality and luxury to me.

if you are comparing the interior to a ph1 meggy (which you have??) then that is slightly unfair as the ph2 megs are seriously cool, they are a hell of alot nicer than the ph1's... :)

:( I might get a r26 depending how I think this one stands the test of time over the next few months.

The interior on the original Meganes is really dated my Meg is a phase 1 225 and I love it.

The inside of that new Civic does indeed look the part but it doesn't work that well when it comes to using it. I mean you put the ignition on and the dash lights up, but in the sunshine you can't see the damn rev count properly. Also it didn't seem as room as it could have been.

I was expecting to be wowed by it coz the interior does look cool, but when in reality the my 225s interior works better for driving even if it doesn't look like a space ships cockpit!!! lol
