: Tyre foam, spare wheel, jack, what do you get?
RobertCL 15-04-2007, 15:09:18 I've ordered a new Megane F1 and I've ordered the spare wheel as well.
I was just wondering if anyone knows, do you still get the tyre foam? Do you get a jack? Do you get a jack if you don't order the spare wheel? Where abouts in the car is the jack kept?
Thanks!
Robert.
denty 15-04-2007, 15:18:14 As far as I know u don't get tyre foam but ul get jack and spare wheel all kept in the boot.
minnnt 15-04-2007, 15:20:20 my trophy hasnt got the spare wheel, but ive got a jack, brace and something else but i dont know what it is.
RobertCL 15-04-2007, 17:06:23 That sounds ok then. I suddenly had images of getting a car with a spare wheel but no jack making it not very useful!
Thanks for the replies.
LiamR26 15-04-2007, 17:36:40 i ordered the wheel too, the jack goes to the bottom right of the boot next to thw wheel. You dont get tyre foam but I have two tins in boot as well, from my clio 182.
denty225 16-04-2007, 20:38:28 I always wondered why they put a jack in with no spare wheel. Can't see myslef leaving the car jacked up and rolling a rim down the road to find a tyre place!!
shinyautos.com 17-04-2007, 09:28:32 I've got 2 cans of foam (as you need two cans per wheel) and a jack, what point that is i don't know! (having no spare!)
:D
mike_d225 17-04-2007, 10:55:17 Pretty sure you need to jack the car up whilst inserting the foam.
caymanR26 20-04-2007, 00:57:10 if you buy the spare wheel is there a hole in the boot floor to fit it in?
mike_d225 20-04-2007, 08:52:02 if you buy the spare wheel is there a hole in the boot floor to fit it in?
Sure is mate, it is also big enough to fit a full size spare alloy if you wanted to pick one up after you order.
RobertCL 20-04-2007, 19:21:10 ^ Really? I looked in the book of the R26 when I test drove one and there didn't look to be to me. Might have missed something though.
mike_d225 21-04-2007, 17:02:44 Same boot and floor as all the RS Meganes strangely enough, I have had a full size alloy in both mine.
You will need a foam insert (Renault part) for the tools and jack to go into when the wheel is in place.
RobertCL 21-04-2007, 19:54:56 Thats good news. I'd assumed I would have to have it kicking about in the boot. :)
mike_d225 21-04-2007, 23:17:42 This is the foam insert

And the wheel in the boot

RobertCL 22-04-2007, 09:18:16 Cheers for the pics. When I looked under the boot carpet in the one I test drove there was only a tiny little compartement about big enough for two cans of tyre foam. Mustn't have looked hard enough :bonkers:
I'd always assumed the reason they didn't include a spare wheel was because they didn't have space for one in the boot because of the exhausts.
